It is well located, right in the Old District. The hotel is not so clean, breakfast is ok. our room was very small. there are a lot of hotels in hanoi. Don't choose it for more than 1 night! You cannot sleep there, because it's noise (old district is so noisy)

Good for a night, no more!!!

We booked online with HI Hostels and when we arrived found the name was different than we expected. I suppose we (barely) got what we paid: a room, a bed, a shower and breakfast. Literally nothing more, nor would I recommend the place to a friend. Our window showed the building next to us, bathroom was in poor condition and overall was not the cleanest place. Also, we were awakened in the middle of our first evening (maybe 3 am) to shouting and yelling downstairs; when we later awoke for breakfast and exploring Hanoi, we found the front glass window was completely destroyed—maybe not the safest place?

Now listed as ancient town hostel, under Youth Hostelling International flag, which would indicate a certain level of quality. Booked two nights; after arriving we even debated over staying there for one night.
The rooms smell moldy and has seen better days. Paint chipping everywhere and broken furniture (railing of the main stairs was loose, bathtub rocked when you stood in it for a shower). Our room had ony small window, which gave a perfect view of a hotel room directly behind ours (roughly 1 metre distance, we heard its occupant snore during the night). Bed and shower were fine though.

It states being renovated, but that renovation doesn't seem to have started yet.
We left after one night and so did our neighbours across the hall (same complaints).
The owner demanded payment for the second night, but eventually we settled on paying 50%.
If you would like to stay budget this could be your place. But don't expect much. If you do, skip this place!

Cheap, old, moldy, bad choice!

The staff in this place were so rude, appearing as if they couldn't care less if we were there or not. The only time they appeared helpful was if there was a slight chance to make some money out of us! Everytime we walked out they would interrogate us as to where we were going (fearing we would book a trip or transport elsewhere!). Once we had told them we had booked Halong Bay trip from elsewhere they practically ignored us until we left. The rooms were ok but bathrooms smelt of damp. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible hotel

Our stay at this hotel was terrible! Rooms smell like mold. The bathroom doesn't even have shower curtain. The complimentary slippers are not clean. The hotel receptionists hardly speak English and are very rude. They are only friendly when they know they can get money from you. We almost lost some of our things.

Worst Hotel Ever!!!

We stayed 3 nights at the Lucky Queen Hotel. We enjoyed its location in the heart of the old Hanoi district, so easy access to all the tourist attractions of the district (pagoda, moose, royal palace). The quality of the hotel is really average but we paid the room at a very affordable price: so we didn't expect a better one. For information however expensive the day we arrived the boy who checked in, we had a little harassment to sell us tours to the old Hanoi district or the Halong Bay. But after several hours of cruising and a lot of fatigue, we really appreciated this attitude.

In the heart of the old neighborhood but a medium hotel

The hotel is clean, well situated and especially very cheap. But the staff is absolutely nothing and unpleasant. They smile until they are refused their offer (much more expensive than the competitors) for a visit to Ha Long Bay. Breakfast is really short and some rooms are really not recommended (I had to ask to change). To top it all off they tried to get me to pay for my two nights down there at a much higher price than agreed.

I can't help it.

The manager is a [--] but the rest of the staff is very nice, they'll help you. We stayed there twice, the first time, top room (403, 3 single beds, but the best mattresses in the world), for 15 dollars, breakfast (top) included. The second time, room 204, double bed. A large cabinet, and behind the cabinet, nothing, in fact, if, the staircase cage of the building next door!!! So no wall, the cabinet is supposed to hide this!!!
