The hotel is cozy and nice, but you need to ask for the renovated rooms, otherwise you will be disappointed as the old rooms are really old and the air conditioning does not work properly. Breakfast offers you wide range of different foods, fresh vegetables, fruits etc. 
The only disappointment was coffee - only instant coffee available and tasted strange. 
Otherwise, everything was very clean, we had welcome snacks and drinks.

When booking this hotel, ask for the new renovated rooms

We were not expecting the four seasons in Monte Carlo but at £60+ per night I think there is a minimum of what someone expects and it should include bottled water in the room, more than one supermarket coat hanger in the wardrobe and curtains which are properly fitted. The mattress doubled up as a butchers block. 

We had a room on the ground floor which was almost directly opposite the reception area. This did not add to our experience as we were woken up in the night by tour groups aggregating in the lobby before getting their night bus to Bukhara/Khiva. 

On the positive side the staff were friendly and the room was clean with a good sized ensuite bathroom. 

I would not advise people not to stay here, but to consider the cost of the room. We booked last minute so the prices were probably higher than normal. If you are looking for a basic overnight stay that is only a 20 minute walk to the Registan and can secure a room for £40 a night or less, I would say go for it. But anything more than that feels rich and I would suggest looking at alternatives in Samarkand.


Just above hostel quality

Stayed here part of a tour. Hotel is in a nice location. very safe, lots of cafes and restaurants near by. This hotel does not have elevators. The beds were comfortable, but hard. Very clean. Breakfast is very basic against as is in of Uzbekistan. The service was great and the folks were nice. However, it was loud. lots of door slamming.

Nice

Had a room near reception which was very comfortable. With no kettle for a cuppa, every time we asked for hot water the receptionists were very happy to oblige. Breakfast was nutritious and there was plenty of it. Location  is ok, a number of restaurants and banks nearby and it is not a noisy or busy road outside. 

Enjoyable stay

We stayed for three nights and although the bed was comfortable and the shower good our room was dark ( not helped by fixed blinds) and looked out onto an internal courtyard. The breakfast was limited and ran out quickly and the staff were slow to replenish. the evening meal, served in a next-door restaurant was much better
 Not bad but could improve.


Good situation/ poor service 

Located within a short drive (10000 som taxi ride) of the Registan, and located near the lovely tree-lined boulevard. Hotel Arga is clean, well maintained and run by friendly staff. Air conditioned and comfortable, with good wifi. Overall represents good value for money.

Lovely spot, lovely staff

I liked this hotel. Staff were cheerful and friendly.  It's a close walk to the shady university boulevards where it's lovely to walk and meet locals. The only down side was rather hard beds.  Loved the strong hot shower and rooms were clean and tidy. Good breakfast too. The hotel restaurant offered outside dining which was enjoyable although not excellent food

Good location and friendly staff

The hotel has renovated rooms and not renovated ones, we stayed in a renovated room (203) and all the rooms on that part were renovated. The room was excellent, spacious and clean, so was the bathroom. The Registan square  is abt a 20-30 min walk, however a taxi to it will cost you 10000 som = €1,-
Don’t forget to visit the Russian Orthodox Church across the street.

Good hotel, just outside the city center

The hotel is located a little bit outside the city center but in a nice neighborhood and not far away from some good restaurants (e.g. Restaurant Samarkand). Room was clean, good shower, basic toiletry and friendly staff. Breakfast was good, according to the hotel standards but it could be better if served on the nice hotel patio instead of the huge cave with no windows. All in all recommendable.
