I remember Cannon Beach when it was a quiet, laidback, simple sort of place where ordinary people could afford to take their families. In recent years it’s gone through a horrific process of gentrification as it’s been hammered by an influx of tourists. The Harrison Street Inn reminded me of old Cannon Beach, quaint Cannon Beach.

Sure, the interiors were a little dated, but the place was clean and comfortable and cozy, and I appreciated far more than any new glitzy remodel being able to take my family and dog on an impulsive overnight trip to the coast and have a place to stay in town that didn’t run me $350+ in the middle of January. 

Other hotels were fully booked, didn’t allow pets, or had minimum nightly stays (in January?!?!). I was able to book a room here the night before our trip.

Sandra was very helpful in booking the room, and the process was contact free. We were able to enter our room early- another bonus. Since the inn is in the middle of town, we could walk everywhere. And the room, while bijou, had all the essentials and was well stocked. 

In amenities this isn’t a five star hotel. But Cannon Beach as an experience and destination has always been five stars for me, and being able to give my child that experience at a price I could afford is worth more than stars. I’m thankful for my stay at the Harrison and would recommend it to those who value experiences over appearances.

A lovely overnight stay for my family

One block from the beach, Harrison Street Inn is an affordable option. The rooms and bathrooms are very dated and the walls are extremely thin but it is exceptionally clean and perfectly comfortable for 2 people. Would recommend to a couple wanting to be quiet and get away.

Good Location!

First time at this lovely Inn. We had a dog-friendly downstairs 1 bedroom unit with kitchenette. What a treasure! The kitchen is well appointed, the space is cozy with an electric fireplace and the bed was really comfortable. There's even a private area out back for the dogs to get outside safely and it's within walking distance to most everything in Cannon Beach. We can't wait to go back. 

Weekend Getaway with the Dogs

We loved this place; close to our 20+ relatives at Tolovana, yet not bothered by them; great for playing Scrabble and watching people/dogs  walk by; great for our old knees, being on the bottom floor; easy access to all of our favorite get together places:
Haystack Rock, beach any direction, Pelican Brewery, a few blocks away, and then into town for Morris, the vinegar/olive oil shop, F pizza on the same street.  In the middle of
all Cannon Beach; sure its a little old but works great for a couple.

Close to everything

This place was perfect for our one night stay in cannon beach. It was a bit old and not very stylisch but it was clean and fresh.
Could have some modernisation.
They do not offer breakfast but there are enough places nearby who do

Perfect for one night

We had a last minute chance to head to the beach in June, and most places were already booked. This four unit inn/condo is a block from the beach (no view), and between Tolovana and downtown Cannon Beach (bonus-Pelican Brewery is within walking distance). The price for what we got was a bit high. I expected something a bit more luxurious, but it was classic family beach decor (a little worn). It was also billed to sleep four, but that would be very cozy for four adults (better for a family with two small children). It did have a back patio area which we didn't use-you access through the bedroom).  It is "self-service" but we didn't need any help/assistance.

Close to beach with kitchenette

Owners not on property, so you must contact them to secure the lock key code.  Room was cozy, lots of light, eating area near fridge, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, good lighting, strong internet connection, cable TV.  Close to beach.  About a 5 - 10 minute walk into the village.  Restaurants close by.  

Being on the road for a few weeks, we could have used a bit more space for the luggage and toiletries.

Quiet One Night Stay

Old run down - dark and dingy.  Everything from the windows, to the bathroom and living space was gross. The furniture has cracks and the window frames are rotting. Avoid this at all costs. The owner does not live on site and it difficult to get ahold of.

Dirty, dingy disgusting

We booked the studio for 2 nights. I believe the standard these days, as it should be, is a freshly laundered duvet cover for each guest. The duvet cover had a fresh food/blood spot on the underside. I admit it was a small spot, but it was an indication that the duvet cover had been used by other guests. I admit too that I am finicky, but after all the media about what can be left behind on bedding used by others, I find this unacceptable. Also, there was hair on the toilet and in the shower. We only stayed one cold night (did not use the duvet cover). I called the owner, told her about our experience, and asked for a refund for the second night. The owner said we would receive a refund, but we did not. This room in general is not terrible, but clean bedding and bathroom are absolutely essential in my book. Very disappointing!
