We had a really lovely stay at the Witney Hotel thanks to Emma. Very communicative, helped us with the setting up of the room for our family of four, and generally very pleasant to deal with. Room was clean, smelled lovely and had a nice little breakfast selection with bubbles for the next day. 

Given its location on the green in Witney, it was a little noisy in the evening with the passing Saturday evening revellers so it might not be for light sleepers, fine for us though. 

Be aware that there are pictures of a common area on the internet but are not accessible to staying guests. This did mean that we were a little confined to the room with the kids while they slept. It may be an idea for them to try and remove these where possible as it may be a little misleading. 

However, the price was very competitive and we weren’t staying in a Travelodge/Premier Inn which is what we’d prefer.  

But on the whole we had a wonderful stay and would happily come again, thanks Emma!

Pleasant stay and very good value for money

The room and location were great but a noisy party kept us up all night! This is marketed as an AirBnB which means large parties book and use the lounge and kitchen to party. We had room no 1 next to party central and although the actual party ended at around midnight, there was slamming of doors and yelling until 3 am. We emailed to hotel to complain but had nothing back, We should have been warned so make sure you find out if there is a party staying before you book, We had a long drive home and were exhausted!

Great room but little sleep!!

We had spacious room had a bath which my wife was happy with the television remote need new batteries and telephone in the room didn't work the bar was expensive the staff was helpful they gave us a room on the third floor my wife doesn't walk very well

What a lovely hotel.
Very quiet, comfy bed and huge range of food for breakfast.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Central location so everything is in walking distance.
Very high standard at a very fair price. Would definitely stay again.

Stay

The owners of this hotel go out of the way to make you feel welcome and the breakfast was fantastic.  
The rooms are a little bit dated but very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep.  My only criticism of our room was that although it was spotlessly clean overall, there were bits of fluff and dust all over the carpet which I think came off the bottom of the hoover when they were cleaning it. Also, the bathroom had a very feint small of urine in it, despite looking spotlessly clean.
I would still go back there despite the very tiny faults because it was so friendly and in such a nice location.

Good overnight stay

We only stayed one night here but it was perfect for what we wanted and excellent value too.  The owner was welcoming upon arrival and thought and care had been put into the decor, it was tasteful but homely. They go the extra mile for their guests here providing tea, coffee, hot choc etc in a lovely little back room, with cakes and biscuits also. Yummy! This was all above and beyond as there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room also. The full vegetarian breakfast I had was really good. The parking was a little bit difficult but location was perfect as we were visiting the wychwood brewery for a tour and it was just a couple of minutes walk away.

Fantastic stay here

I brought my partner Steve to the Fleece for dinner to celebrate his birthday.  We’ve recently moved to Witney and had heard this was a good place to eat.
Atmosphere is great, food fantastic (great portion sizes), service second to none.  Our waitress Daisey was very friendly and knowledgeable - she definitely deserved a tip. Angus made us feel very at home - taking time to chat and he even bought us a birthday drink.  
We highly recommend The Fleece and we’ll definitely be back (a lot)

Perfect date night

Booked on the day whilst travelling to Oxfordshire. A most pleasant B & B Guest House and one that we would be happy to return to. No private parking but we where lucky to get a space immediately just outside. On the Church Green bang in the centre of the town, so therefore convenient for restaurants, shops and the magnificent church. Pleasant staff who made us welcome.

Just an overnight stay whilst visiting family

Lovely stay at this B&B for our visit back to Witney for a family wedding. Friendly hosts and lovely staff. Totally recommend the cooked breakfast. Was lovely to see the property again after many years when we 1st moved to Witney back in 72.
