well what can I say the hosts julie and Michael are so friendly  and the house is amazing and so quirky fantastic find , great location , the bed was so comfortable  very clean will definitely  be back again

We were very pleased to spend two days at Twin Palms! We were very lucky to find a wonderful place, and wonderful people seems like Julie, Mike and Jamie. We received a nice warm welcome, the room very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed! I recommend Twin Palms to everyone. We found there a nice friend and we will come back. Thank you very much Julie, Mike and Jamie!!!! You are amazing and wonderful!!!

I will admit, I had my reservations about staying here after reading one bad review. But I have to say we where pleasantly surprised with our stay and can genuinely say we would stay here again! The hosts where so friendly and couldn't do enough for us! Our room was lovely, so clean, warm and homely! Photos that have been left with a bad review of this place are misleading and I hope that my photos will rectify this and show that it is actually a lovely and very clean place. The bed was super comfortable, we where provided with fresh towels, a tv with lots of dvd choices and fresh milk with tea and coffee making facilities! The dog that someone had mentioned in a previous review was not a bad dog in any sense, it's a tiny little Yorkie, and we only saw him because I had asked to see him, otherwise you wouldn't have even known he was there! He was a little sweet heart and so friendly towards us! I just wanted to say thank you to the family for such a warm and friendly stay, can't wait to return in the summer x

Had an amazing weekend stay with my partner and 7yo son, the location is perfect just off the sea front, I will definitely be returning as the room was great the owner was lovely and we overall really enjoyed everything about it

The room we had was lovely, just how i expect home to be. The whole hotel, from the spiral staircase, to the china cups, with fresh milk, in our own fridge, was amazing. It is a little difficult to find, because it does nt stand out on the street. Its a little doorway next to a kebab shop, but when you get there, its not little at all, its magnificent. The owners are lovely people, and i hope the gentleman of the house gets well soon, Thankyou for a lovely stay xxxx

Had a two night break at Twin Palms with the wife to celebrate her birthday. What a great place. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Julie could not have been more welcoming. Phoned me early on my mobile to let us know the room was ready and once we were there made us feel at home. Had the added bonus of a roof top terrace, ideal place to chill out with plenty of seating.

My partner and I stayed for three nights at the Twin Palms and we had a fantastic time. We were greeted by a very hospital woman and her adorable dog. Our room was a great size with a very comfortable bed. A nice perk were all the DVDs available for us to watch.  The bathroom was spacious and bright. The whole house was decorated with very interesting pieces and made it feel very homey. The location was fantastic - just a couple minutes from the esplanade and main beach. The owners have two very friendly cats which, again, made it feel very homey and welcoming. There is a lovely terrace which we enjoyed in the mornings and evenings. The only negative is that it is located on a bit of a noisy street, but the atmosphere and comfort of the house made up for it. I would definitely recommend this guest house.

My Daughter and myself visited just this weekend.
We was at first a little concerned when finding Twin Palms it’s just a little doorway between two shops .
I couldn’t of been more wrong .
We was met by Julie and Mick owners of Twin Palms they warmly welcomed us like old friends.
Entering Twin Palms was a feast Our eyes.
And eclectic mix of beautiful paintings and amazing staircase  with treasures that Mick and Julie have collected on their travels.
At one point I felt so rude as I couldn’t stop asking and wanting to take a closer look at all their Exciting bits and pieces.
I asked if I could see my room and Julie was only to happy to show us around.
We stayed in the family room and we loved every minute of it.

A  lovely sized room with an adjoining Childs room beautifully decorated and very stylish . Not only was there a TV with DVDs in the main room but also the smaller child’s  room with a Draw filled with lots of bits and pieces to keep my little girl occupied on her stay.
We found our room lovely ,clean and tidy with a lovely seating area by the large bay window.
I loved that we was a stones throw away from the seafront And the train station was metres away.
No Cab fares and so close  to all amenities.
I’ve stayed in other budget priced local hotels and couldn’t wait to leave but We really loved staying here.
I only wish we had booked a longer stay.

We can’t wait to go back and visit again.

Booked in for 1 nite arrived i thought oh no very grotty from outside but when you get inside wow beautiful decor big rooms, even a large tv and dvd player , nice and warm room  bathroom was huge nice towels great shower.  very welcoming . Defo booking again

Lovely hidden place

On first impressions the room just looked a bit tired. I decided that as noone had bothered to clean the room I'd have a look around and maybe give it a clean up myself as I was planning on staying here for 2 nights..

My first clue this place was maintained by people who couldn't care less should have been the simple lack of knob on the light switch. A part that can be changed in mere minutes by anyone for the cost of about a fiver.... 

Initially I was a bit dissapointed to see dead flies on the windowsills but that's easy enough to wipe off.
I decided to check out what I was up against and oh was I in for a shock!!

After inspecting the place more thoroughly I noticed the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. Then I saw the bathroom tap dodnt look like it had been cleaned, ever. Whilst looking for some cleaning products I checked in the cupboards and found an assortment of junk. (why clean when you can just stuff your rubbish in cupboards right?)

Old pliers in the bathroom cupboard was slightly confusing.

I wondered if maybe they kept some bits under the bed. (due to finding the cupboards holding junk I wondered where else someone would hide their mess if they were too lazy to clean.)

Did they keep something under the bed?
YES THEY DID!!!
Was it cleaning products...
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

It was a turd..  A full in the flesh stinking brown bum sausage!!

Now, up until this point I had been dissapointed but accepting of this heap of a room...

But there was absolutely no way I was sleeping above a nugget of arse debris!

I called Julie (quite possibly the rudest and least caring owner I have ever spoken to)

Initially I asked for another room. To which she declined, informing me that there was no other rooms available. (i was actually rather relieved about this, but feel sorry for the poor souls stuck in the other rooms!)

In informed Julie of my grizzly discovery. She litterally did not care in the slightest. I asked if she could arrange alternate accommodation and she simply told me to speak to booking. Com and to put the keys through the letter box when I left...

This was Friday evening... She has finally sorted out the refund today (Tuesday) after making various excuses. (if like to add that she requested cash on arrival or bank transfer only.)

On top of this horrendous service and the unsanitary conditions, the rest of the house was disgusting.
Mouldy ceilings, discarded beers cans chucked in plant pots in the garden (a garden that looked vastly different to the pictures online that I can only assume to be completly fake or of an entirely different property.)
The hallway was cluttered with dirty mountain bikes and yest more trash.

This was one of the worst places I have ever "almost" stayed at.... And this is coming from a man that frequently stays in the woods in little more than a hammock and tarp.

If you're considering staying here, then please, I urge you to reconsider. If not for your comfort... Then for your health.

This place should be shut down.
