We stayed at The Greyhound for three nights in March. It is a lovely pub, with great food.  We had a lovely room which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.  All the staff were very friendly, but Mark especially made us feel extremely welcome and was very knowledgeable about local places to visit.  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Super friendly, great pub

A very pleasant stay for a couple of nights. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the accommodation was ideal for our needs and the food - both evening meals and breakfasts were excellent.
Facilities in the room were very good and it was very clean.
The location is good if you want a quiet stay.

Lovely quiet location.

Had an overnight stay here and was very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommodation for the price. We had a room with sitting room, spacious bathroom and separate bedroom. Was more like being on holiday rather than a BnB. Room was clean, bright and airy. Had a small fridge in the sitting room with water and fresh milk. Had the usual tea and coffee facilities too. Breakfast was served quickly and hot, which I like. Also had a couple of lattes at no extra cost again, which I like! All in all I can highly recommend The Greyhound . The owners are very pleasant and attentive. Only down side is they aren't open on a Monday so we had to go out for Dinner, no biggy! Thank you very much for a lovely overnight stay Emma and Andy

Great overnight stay

Excellent food and service with lovely decor. Very clean. Really recommend it as somewhere to stay and eat. Will make this our default halfway stop in future when travelling from Winchester to Weymouth. 

Food visit

We travelled 7 hours to visit the tank museum with our son so I picked this hotel by chance as it was close to the museum. First off the young lady and gentleman who were working that day and night (05.11.22) were outstanding. So friendly yet professional.  We were shown to our room which was much bigger than I expected and it was perfect for us. Very comfortable bed with the heating turned on as it was quite cold outside. Our evening meal was lovely, the food was excellent quality and we really enjoyed it. Breakfast was superb just what we needed before we headed home. Overall beautiful place,would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Perfect stay

Stayed for one night in the Greyhound as we were attending a wedding nearby. It was a last minute booking and we were pleasantly surprised by the price. I called the morning of arrival to ask if we could check in early as we had to be at the wedding at 1.30 and the check in was 2oclock the last on the phone was extremely helpful and said they would ensure our room was cleaned first so that it would be ready for us by 12.30. We arrived to a warm welcome and as promised our room was ready. The room was large, comfortable and clean, the complimentary coffee was ground coffee with a cafetière and not some rubbish instant and there was a bottle of fresh milk in the fridge instead of uht, little touches like this just make the stay more comfortable. The staff were friendly and knowledgable and gave us directions to the wedding we were attending. The breakfast provided in the morning was delicious, a quality full English with juice and tea or coffee. Would recommend this place to anyone

Perfect

An excellent experience. A special mention must go out to both Lily and Mark for making our wedding anniversary evening memorable with just a few little gestures that meant a lot. The food here is excellent, good portion sizes and sensibly priced. We cannot fault the service which was first class. The room was clean, small but perfectly adequate for our needs. Mark was particularly helpful with any issue we had (only a blown lightbulb) but nothing was too much trouble, even helping an old fogey with his ipad! The staff were polite, courteous and very helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel in a very peaceful and beautiful part of Dorset. Well done to Mark and his team and thank you.

Anniversary

First time here we were on holiday and it was my husbands birthday so went for a meal and omg this place is stunning the staff are very welcoming always smiling the steak was amazing the best steak in the uk the staff were having banter with each other that’s how it should be lots of laughter will be visiting again thank you greyhound inns keep it up from Mr and Mr Stockwell 🤩

Amazing pub and staff

First time at the Greyhound Inn and it was amazing the room we had the en-suite and own lounge it was perfect.  Power shower big double bed and warm. The staff were so friendly, young Nathan is a real asset to the place nothing was to much trouble. Now the food, outstanding quality all locally source produce where possible everything cooked to perfection. This Inn is a real jewel in the crown in a lovely village. They also do the village shop opened in the lock-down another great asset to the village. We would give it 5 star *****  because of the great team the food the location and the place is so well done inside and out.  Also free onsite parking.

Fabulous Stay

Would highly rate this Restaurant,staff very friendly and accomodating, good food and reasonably  priced.  We rented a cottage and tried this pub as just over the road and ended going there most evenings  and we tried the breakfast too. Will definitely  return, when next in Dorset.😊
