I thought this room was incredible value. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. It seemed that the room and bathroom had recently been refurbished, which would explain some of the negative reviews. Good size, attractive decor with tea and coffee facilities. Comfy bed and Sky TV.

Excellent Good Value Room

We stayed in Room 5 at The Greyhound for nearly a week whilst having building work at our home.  It’s a lovely front facing room, large and spacious!  Despite being at the front on the road, it was surprisingly quiet!  Beautifully decorated with some original features.  Separate entrance so didn’t have to go through the pub if we didn’t want to.  The pub staff were extremely efficient and friendly.  The menu for evening meal was large and varied - the food delicious!!!   They don’t serve breakfast at the pub but there is a lovely community shop/cafe behind it which did lovely breakfast choices.  Would definitely stay again!

Booked a table for 30+ on the 1/02/2020 and everything was perferct. the lady who dealt with my booking was extremly helpful and met our every needs. Also we were all very impressed with the quality and quantity of the meals !

Food quality and proportions are amazing

Cracking party with buffet of curry rice chips poppadums etc .Food excellent, staff excellellent,all my friends really enjoyed the whole experience.Thks to everyone at the greyhound for making my party a success 

Birthday party 

We stayed at this venue for the last 2 nights whilst walking the Ridgeway National Trail. On arrival we were greeted warmly by a young lady behind the bar who took us to our room which was situated in a purpose build annex at the side of the pub. The room was quite large and easy to get around, however it was a little dated and both it and the bathroom could do with some TLC. The shower cubicle in particular was very small and difficult to access with a step up. However it being a bed only rate It was very good value for money. This venue was also good enough to take accept and look after our baggage which was being transferred between our various stop over points on the Ridgeway by a baggage transfer company.

Great place to stay and good value

We booked on line to eat here at the weekend, we previously ate on a Sunday and had a great roast . The food was amazing. Home made and great portion sizes. Halloumi fries to start were amazing, Soup was lovely too, we ordered the seafood pie OMG amazing, the best fish pie I’ve ever eaten with freshly cooked seafood on the top, I can’t understand the poor reviews, honestly I can’t, even the Cesar salad was great. Worth a visit absolutely. We will defiantly be going back. 

Amazing food my new favourite place to eat 

Visited restaurant whilst staying at Hever Castle, this is a lovely restaurant, with a great ambiance , great food & competitive prices.  Loved our visit & will definitely return, most probably for a stay next time.

A real gem.

Good points: ample parking, hot shower, comfy bed, quiet,clean room, very fast wi-fi, plenty of electrical sockets.  Not so good points: the room was very cold – possibly because we didn’t work out how to control the radiator; the bedside lamp was dim and impossible to read by; no breakfast provided.
We would recommend the adjacent village shop which also serves food, including breakfast.

Convenient and simple accommodation

Firstly the good, the cleanliness of the room and ensuite was excellent, as was the reception who was very helpful, the television set was great for the size of the room with full Sky programmes available and a bonus of Netflix, this latter leads me onto the indifferent, the only way to settle down and watch the tele for a while was to lay on the bed, no seats or chairs, further no wardrobe, just a hanging rail, bear in mind that the room was described as "Deluxe", certainly an over statement. 
Finally in Trip Advisor, it stated that breakfast was  included, this was not so and not available.
I paid £80.00 for a hotel room which was supposedly Deluxe and certainly was not.
Next time I think I will use the Premier Inn.

The Good and the Indifferent

Stayed here for a night while hiking the Ridgeway. There was no food available at lunchtime or dinner and they don't do breakfast in any event. The room was clean but needed some work (the hot tap didn't work, but the shower was fine). I worked out how to set the electric radiator and towel rail so it was warm enough. Very quiet area. Staff were fine but bar closed very early
