The room we had was very dated and the shower was small, the shower in the other bathroom didn’t work. Beard trimmings in and around the sink. Staff and surrounding areas was nice

We went for a meal as a family of four.  The food was excellent and very good vale for money.  The pizzas are delicious and plenty of choice on the menu.  The staff were helpful and friendly.  Would definitely recommend eating here.

Good value and good quality food

After receiving a buyagift voucher for my 60th we booked this hotel in August for an anniversary stay in early December. After a 4 hour drive we arrived at late afternoon to find the place closed. After managing to get in a side door which was left open by the builders I went in to find a building site scenario of tools, pipes and bits of wood everywhere. Upon finally meeting the manager I was informed that there was no bar or restaurant facilities available for the duration of of our 2 night stay due to it being out of season, a point I would rather have been informed of when I spoke to them 2 weeks earlier to check the booking had been made. As the manager informed me " it is more a guest house than a hotel" and the fact that its a grade 2 listed building meant they couldn't change the 'Hotel' part of the name! When I queried the lack of what I consider to be 'Hotel' amenities I was told bluntly "Well its Ironbridge in December, everything's shut!" Despite this we found a nice pub with rooms just down the road, The Malthouse, which I can highly recommend for the hotel, the staff and the food.
If I could rate this a 0 I would mainly due to the managers total indifference to my situation and the fact that they refused to refund the voucher when Buyagift contacted them even tho they had provided no service whatsoever!
Buyagift on the other hand get 5 out of 5 for giving me a replacement voucher in excess of the one used. Needless to say I won't recommend this 'Hotel'!!

Tontine Hotel, Ironbridge. Disaster!

We had booked a table for their Italian Night in the Architect. We both loved the amazing food, will 100% recommend. Chef came to ask personally if all was ok, not had that before. Loved the pleasant warm atmosphere. Thanks guys with you all a very merry Christmas 

Date night in the tontine 

The hotel is currently being renovated and the price reflected this.  We had no issues with noise, etc. 

The building is absolutely stunning.  The ensuite double room we had (room 4) above the front door had amazing views through the stunning window.  It had it's own quirkiness - sloping floor, fire place, high ceilings.  Unfortunately due to the work being done the bar/restaurant was closed, however there are plenty of places to eat and drink in Ironbridge.  We can recommend the Swan Taphouse, opposite the Museum of the Gorge.

We look forward to returning to see the transformation and to enjoy another lovely stay.

Unbeatable location for Ironbridge

Great food and wonderful staff 

We ad 2 beautiful delicious pizzas and the staff are fab couldn't be nicer and chatty.

Eton mess for dessert .. just ask them about booking or not very easy either way ..

Great location and wonderful view from front rooms. Very attentive and helpful staff and a good breakfast in a very nice breakfast room.
