We visited England wanting the peace and beauty of the countryside. Meeson Hall provided that brilliantly. We stayed in The Bothy, a lovingly and cleverly updated old cottage that reeks of history while providing modern comfort. The manor grounds are charming and are threaded with trails for easy strolling through the gardens. Highly recommend for those interested in an olde English experience.

Old English Comfort

Courtyard cottage is a lovely  17th century cottage in beautiful grounds attached to Meeson Hall. The cottage has everything needed for a very comfortable stay, and Mark the owner is very friendly and helpful.
On arrival we were met by Mark who showed us around the cottage. It is nicely decorated in keeping with the age and extremely clean and comfortable. 
The welcome pack which he provided was very extensive, and contained fresh eggs, bread, butter, jam, tea coffee, sugar and milk. Dishwashing tablets, washing up liquid and washing tablets were also provided. 
Although the cottage is in the countryside, it is within half an hour of most of the major tourist attractions in the area, which include the Ironbridge museums.
It is also a perfect place for anyone who just wants peace and quiet and loves nature. Every day we saw squirrels running around outside the window, and one morning I saw a buzzard on the lawn, which then flew up into the tree. 
All in all it is a lovely place to stay.

Quiet and peaceful country cottage.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of April. We were 3 generations including an 8 and a 10 year old. We found the Courtyard cottage ideal. It was warm and cosy despite the chilly weather. It was very clean and everything was provided. The lovely welcome pack included bread,  eggs butter home made jam , and there was a supply of dishwasher tablets and washing tablets which often are forgotten.  Mark, one of the owner was available at all times for queries and advice but he never intruded. The grounds are superb and beautiful and we were able to let the children explore outside without supervision. There was also space to kick a ball around and play french cricket. There were loads of activities in the area, most notably the Ironbridge museums, the Hoo zoo and the RAF museum. The children could not decide which was best. Cooking at the house was no problem but there were also excellent eating places nearby.  I thoroughly recommend this house. It was perfect for our needs. 

Wonderful for children

Meeson Hall is a very special place with a warm welcome. We stayed in the Housekeepers Cottage which was just perfect with eggs, bread, home-made jam etc. all provided. And everything in the cottage was perfectly clean. What a great experience to be in such a tranquil place where we felt transported back in time as we wandered the lovely grounds or relaxed in the cottage; a real sense of the past. We felt completely refreshed, even after the first night of our stay.

Meeson Hall is a very special place

From booking to check-out Adrian and Mark were the most helpful, outstanding, attentive, friendliest hosts ever. Fine dining, utterly wonderful. David, Stevie and I cannot recommend MEESON HALL strongly enough.  For the perfect 'away-from-it-all' stay without being isolated this is one place you must visit.  Mark and Adrian - please move to Spain so that we can visit you often.

OUTSTANDING is an understatement!

We stayed in the courtyard cottage and had a wonderful relaxing break. The cottage itself has been renovated to the very highest standards but has kept a lovely charm about it. It was very comfortable with everything we could possibly need from towels to firewood, from a welcome pack to everything you could think of in the kitchen. 

We received a lovely warm welcome filled with very useful advice on the local area. Try the Ugly Duckling for dinner. The food was sensational. Thanks Mark for the recommendation. 

The spot is so peaceful that it was very easy to relax and with beautiful gardens to wander it was the perfect place to ease all the stresses of modern day living. We would heartily recommend it. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay.

Idyllic spot in the country

From the moment we arrived our stay was absolutely amazing - the hosts / good / ambiance/ rooms / service were all totally first class . 
A real gem in wonderful surroundings - we cannot wait to return . 
We were made to feel so welcome & nothing was too much trouble . 
The breakfast was superb - possibly the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever eaten ! 
We cannot recommend this wonderful place & its hosts Mark & Adrian highly enough - if we could give it 6 stars we would !

Relaxing Stay

This wonderful small luxury hotel is run by two hosts who cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. It's such a great place to rest and relax, and be looked after beautifully!  The bedrooms are huge and couldn't be more comfortable, with wonderful bathrooms.  The public areas are very comfortable, including the lovely outside courtyard which is full of glorious colour from the flowers and plants.
