Spotlessly clean,comfortable room which was also tastefully furnished. The hosts were most friendly and went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I can't thank them enough. Would definitely this guest house to anyone visiting the area.

Exceptional hosts

The room and house were in an excellent clean condition and the owners were great.Breakfast was very good with plenty of options.Overall a great stay and would recommend this guest house as it is far better than the more expensive big hotel chains.Many thanks to the owners.

Very good guest house

This establishment is clean, quiet and comfortable. It is only 5-10 minutes' walk from the cetre of Sunderland .I had the best 2 nights' sleep here I'd had in ages and Kevin (the landlord) was very complimentary about we Bristol Rovers' supporters!

Quiet and comfortable

Beautiful, clean, comfy, warm, quiet! Great owners. I stayed here on a business trip. Beats chains hands down! Thank you both for making my stay so pleasant.

Perfect place for an overnight business stay

Welcomed from the second the door was opened. A fabulous host nothing was too much bother. Went out of his way to be helpful. Gorgeous place clean friendly and we will be back. 2nd visit getting booked for end of month. 

Amazing

Magnificent old 3 storey townhouse, really well-presented and spotlessly clean. The rooms don’t quite live up to the standard of the common areas but are perfectly comfortable although the bathrooms could do with a refurbishment - lots of water damage around the shower cubicle etc. The location is brilliant, just a short walk from Sunderland centre and breakfast was excellent with juice, cereals, full cooked breakfast and as much toast as you want. Hosts are really friendly people, like all north-easterners.

Great accommodation

Together with three friends I arrived by bike far later than expected but we still received the warmest of welcomes from Alison . The room was ideal with plenty of hot water and we were given a first class breakfast before departure
No hesitation in recommending Mowbray House!
