My partner and I stayed at this B&B while attending a wedding at the nearby Berkeley castle. This is not a hotel, in my opinion it isn't really a B&B. This felt like we were at a family friends home. If you aren't after a truly unforgettable taste of life in a country manor then this isn't for you. We were greeted by a wonderful lady named Jane and two beautiful jack Russells who were very playful, hot drinks and cakes were offered on arrival and instead of being ushered into our rooms Jane sat with us and we chatted for a while. We were shown to our room which was very large and dated, no mod cons, just an extremely comfy bed and a beautiful view, needles to say we loved it. We stayed in 'The Blue Room' and so had a separate bathroom which looked recently refurbished, again with a wonderful view and a very extravagant bath. Breakfast was amazing, they offer a choice of duck or hen eggs, and we settled down at a very grand table in a truly beautiful dining room. The resident billy goat had free roam of the grounds and was extremely friendly, as were the cats. 

This house is old, creepy and dated. We loved it all, in our opinion this truly represents a Cotswold home with great hospitality, great food and an even better nights sleep. 

Dated, creepy and in the middle of nowhere

Our two night stay at Stinchombe hill house was a delight!  The location is stunning . The house has a lovely and enchanting character. The hosts are fantastic and very pleasant -including the family dogs, cats, Barry-the goat and the chickens. The breakfast was delicious. The wifi worked well. We enjoyed the common room and the garden, spent most of our time in the lovely garden with the pets. 
We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone!

Warm and welcoming !

We stayed here the night of my friends wedding and after booking on a bit of a whim I was pleasantly surprised with my choice when waking up the following morning! The location is stunning with fantastic surrounding views. We loved the house itself, the beautiful old room, the free range ethos, the dogs and the feeling that we had truly escaped the city here. We will definitely be returning to this charming abode.

Charm in abundance! 

There are many photos on the TA website of this completely charming Bed and Breakfast home to show how unusual it is.  The building is not for you if you want an elegant and modern facility.  Every room is unique by arrangement within the old walls and floors and the owners have done a lovely job to bring out the joys of the past thru constant renovations.  Our hosts Jane and Graham with family dogs and cats and rescue goat Barry, made our stay very pleasant.   To find the entry, you must drive across the golf course on top of the hill.  Filled with charm from top to bottom, this B&B was exactly what we hoped to find while touring around England.

Stinchcombe Hill House B&B is enchanting!

We stayed at Stinchcombe Hill House in March when we were walking the Cotswold Way. The night we stayed there was my 30th Birthday so I was really looking forward to it, as it looked so beautiful from the website. From a Cotswold Way perspective, it is very easy to find, you basically would walk past it anyway. We received a warm welcome and were greeted by two lovely Jack Russels and a goat. We stayed as far as I can remember in the "Room with a View" which look out over the Severn estuary. The bed was very comfy and I really liked the bathroom which felt very new and modern. They use their rainwater for the showers which I thought was great. I also really liked the sitting room and they have a good selection of magazines available that you can browse. 

We arrived a lot earlier than we had planned and Jane gave us directions and recommendations of where to go for lunch in Dursley. It's easy to walk down to Dursley, but walking back was quite a mission as there is quite a steep hill. The house is on a golf course, but you don't have to go through it, you can walk along its edges, overlooking the area. We had lovely weather so we spent a couple of hours laying in the grass, enjoying the views and reading a good book. In the evening we decided to go out again for a birthday meal and Jane/Graham kindly offered to drive us and pick us up again, as it would be a bit dangerous/creepy to walk as there are no lights.  When we got back after the dinner it was already completely dark and I can only recommend taking a few minutes to walk out on to the golf course to look at the stars - there is almost no light pollution! 

The breakfast room was befit the rest of the house with wood panelling all around. The breakfast itself was very good, too. The only thing that we missed out on was the cake and the tea for some reason which is included in the price, but that was probably more of a miscommunication than anything else (and it was probably best not to have it, as we had so much to eat on that day anyway!).

Overall, it was a great stay. I really liked the feel of the house and it has a lot more to offer than the average bed and breakfast along the Cotswold Way, so I was very pleased that we managed to stay there on my birthday.
