An ideal choice for a no-frills overnight stay. Superbly located - 5 mins walk from the 18th hole at the Old Course. Tidy, comfortable twin room had a view over a lovely tree lined square. Shared bathroom and toilet facilities (spotlessly clean) down the corridor. Fluffy towels provided.Lift access. Student feel to the building. £105 total bill included a glorious full Scottish Buffet Breakfast - quality sausages,bacon, eggs, delicious haggis, Fisher & Donation bakery white rolls, etc. Continental and veggie options too. Simply wonderful! Special mentions for the very friendly and extremely helpful reception dream team of Mia & Lucy. Parking was a real challenge. Recommended!

The Winner takes it Hall

We stayed one night - rooms were very clean and although shared bathrooms again first  class - it’s student accommodation so it’s not the ritz, but we loved it and will definitely come back. One point - the breakfast once one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had - first class range and again first rate staff- I’d have no hesitation in sending my kids here knowing they are getting looked after like this.

Fantastic location and great staff

I really enjoyed staying here. The single room was on the ground floor which helped. It was spacious with great wifi connectivity as well. Window opened to let in fresh air.

The welcome from the staff was very warm and they were helpful throughout. Location is amazing as was the tariff. God the breakfasts were huge and if you wanted you could have had more. 

I'd thoroughly recommend staying here and saving yourself a lot of money, yet still having aa brilliant experience

The visit to St Andrews

Stayed here with my grandson for 3;days ,
5 minutes walk from beach and golf course .
Excellent service with beautiful buffet breakfast each morning .
Staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to accommodate us .

Outstanding service

It's a student hall of residence so amenities and decor are very basic as expected, but you can't complain for the price, especially in the centre of St. Andrews in high season! A bargain really. Minor gripes - the shared bathroom(s) have very loud electric hand dryers that sound like a vacuum cleaner and can be heard several rooms away.. The lights in the corridors and bathrooms are extremely bright, in the blueish spectrum and permanently on, so not conducive to maintaining melatonin levels if you need to go to the bathroom at night. Suprised that this wasn't a design consideration from an elightened H&S perspective in a hall of residence. Layout of the rooms is a little bizzare, no bedside table so necessary to move desk lamp to beside socket and balance it on top of bed post.. Breakfast excellent (full choice of healthy and unhealthy options from porridge to fried dead animal bits, as well as croissants, toast, nuts & seeds and pretty much everything else). Coffee unfortunately awful however - from one of those automatic machines and tastes like it's made from some sort of industrial concentrate..

Spectacular view of the oldest golf course in the world and the beautiful beach on the north side. Quiet in the hall. Shared toilets and showers reflects the relatively low cost of accommodation. Facing north there is a fair amount of road noise.

Budget accommodation, £72 for twin room, basic but clean, bed comfortable.  Downside of sharing bathroom and shower facilities (possibly 6 rooms per facility). We were first to use showers in morning and they were excellent, may not be so good if a number of people used them before you!
Excellent breakfast which increased my rating from 3 to 4 stars, ample selection from continental to cooked !

Excellent value, if you don’t mind sharing bathroom facilities 

It was uncomfortably warm at night with very little air circulation.  We tried to open the window more but could not.
