There was nothing massively wrong with the hotel, but a lot of things that could be better. The hotel comes with free parking which is conveniently located. Signage towards reception could be better 
The check-in process was simple enough. We booked the suite with breakfast. On the way to our room I noticed a few areas which are a little bit tiered. The room was a good size, and the shower was great.
The suite came with a lovely bath which was the whole reason for booking the room type. And to be fair my wife loved it.
The bed was large but the mattress not the best. The suite came with air conditioning which was needed. The room was quite stuffy and the windows painted shut.
Apart from the bits which were looking a little bit tired the general state of the hotel was ok, similar to that of a typical premier inn.
The breakfast however did let things down quite a bit. I had a full English and my wife had the eggs Benedict.
The Continental could have been better and the coffee came from a flask and was very wishy washy.
The sausages lacked flavor and the spinach that was served with the eggs Benedict should have been wilted. (It was more like salad leaves on the plate).
Would I stay here again ? Probably. But I would nip into town for the breakfast definitely.

Ok. Could be better

Restaurant review. Went on a Monday evening, 6.45pm; it wasn’t busy. Was shown to table, very cold in restaurant, we were next to radiator that wasn’t on. Took food order & starter came quite quickly which was nice - shared Camembert. Was then left for ages waiting for the main with nobody coming over to take another drink order. The layout of restaurant means waitresses were often out of site round the corner. Mains came & we asked for extra sauces, they were virtually thrown at us. My steak was very fatty & chewy, not enjoyable but as we’d waited so long & could barely see a waitress, I couldn’t be bothered telling them as I didn’t want to delay the meal any further. Got our bill & left; first & last time there. More expensive than average pub food but no better quality

First & last time for food

Fantastic experience stayed in the disabled room with my family member, all staff went above and beyond. Rooms were really comfortable large and had great temperature control. Lovely editions of biscuits, tea and filter bag coffee. We had the full English the following day including the vegetarian option which was great. Lots of choice on the continental. Shout out to Sam, Lorraine, Michelle and Nathan who worked hard to make our stay perfect, we have booked again for next year for more days because we were so impressed!

Fantastic bed and breakfast, wouldn't know it was attached to a pub!

We stayed in room12 above a generator or compressor which ran all night noisy, we could not sleep. Come morning reception was unmaned. Breakfast very poor no hot water no butter, waited approximately 20 mins to order breakfast & another 45 mins for breakfast to be served, would not recommend this hotel.

My night mare

A very nice place to stay it had a homely comfortable feeling. The service was very good especially  Michelle who was serving she was very pleasant and helpful  food was good too and the room wAs fine all in all I had a lovely time

Visit to the greswolde arms with family

Free car parking. Quiet,and good air conditioning. Pleasant staff. Didn't use the bar area as had other stuff booked. Great base for classy canalside foody pubs such as the Fleur de Lys and Boot inn etc. Will be back

An enjoyable stay

Service at the restaurant was amazing staff were incredible and very attentive.We were served by Adam and Izzie. Both were brilliant! The food was incredible and was worth every penny. Would definitely come back! 

The greswolde arms

Visited last night (28th July) for a meal. Two meals were fine the third appalling. Chicken and ham pie pastry needed a chisel to cut through it. Gravy was a solid paste. When commented staff just shrugged and said see what you mean. Shame nornally enjoy the C&B food bit you let the chain down this time. 

Poor Meal

We were a group of friends staying for a weekend. The bedrooms were very good, plenty of space, very clean etc. Cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. 
We enjoyed breakfast both mornings (excellent avocado and poached eggs, nicely cooked) though I would always prefer tea and toast to be served at the table not to have to keep getting up for things. 
Reception seems to be mainly covered by the bar staff so you might wait if they are busy. We got soaked through one day and longed for an afternoon cup of tea or coffee. We were told the coffee machine had broken and all the teapots were being washed, seemed odd. We brought tea from our rooms and sat at a table for 4, moving two spare chairs to make up 6.  We were told very sharply by one young barman that we couldn’t do that as he hauled the chairs back. 
As I say 4/5 but someone visible on reception would help and young staff might be reminded that we are paying guests and not to be a bit sharp because a chair has been moved. Oh the automated answering machine is very annoying, you might struggle to get through. Knowle and Dorridge are lovely and worth visiting.

So much going for it but it doesn’t quite hit 5/5.

We stayed here for the first time after 3 visits to the Kings Arms up the road in previous years.

This is even more ideally to pop off and on the M42 on our route south to the channel tunnel.

The staff were excellent at every turn: reception, bar, waiters / waitresses and breakfast.

I enjoyed a few fine ales and some nice merlot, while Mrs D had old mout and rose - all excellent.

We are outside and the meal was first class, well balanced plates full of flavour.

Our room was nice and roomy and the air con superb.

We will be back that’s for sure. The garden seated area is lovely as are all the inside bar and restaurant tables.
