This place is just brilliant.

We arrived early at 9am and were allowed to leave our bags in a secure room while we went out for the day, even though our room was available at 11am, We were greater by very friendly and helpful staff.

When we arrived back again early afternoon to check in to our room, we were greeted by Brian who is a very nice man, very helpful very informative and helpful.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, as was our room, its an old hotel, with old features but very very good.

All of the staff are extremely helpful and polite and great with our kids.

In the morning breakfast again exceeded our expectations- plentiful, good quality and nice and hot.

All round amazing hotel for all types of guest.

We have 4 days left of our holiday and I'm already looking to book again soon.

Amazing 

Booked the Chester Lodge for an event being held at Randown Airport this BHW...
Rooms were clean, plenty of tea/coffee/milk/biscuits, big TV, plenty towels...

All good so far but then i must mention Bryan - what a fantastic host!!!

He greeted us warmly upon arrival, explained everything about the hotel as we checked in and instantly put us at total ease.

We had four nights of comfortable, sound sleep and when requesting room refresh (considering ongoing C-19 concerns) a full set of new towels and all the other bits were left outside our door without fail, as promised.

It's not the Hilton and it doesn't charge like the Hilton - it's a family run business trying it's best to survive in extremely difficult times - AND IT IS CERTAINLY VALUE FOR MONEY!

I have nothing but positive memories of our stay here and i most definitely would return.

Bryan, thank you for looking after us! Hopefully see you again soon!

Does exactly what it says on the tin...

Lovely family run b & b, clean rooms, welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Just a short stroll from the main high street, pier & see front. Value for money breakfast. Great stay. We return again & recommend. 

Welcoming & cosy

My dad and I decided to organise a motorbike rally on the Island as my Dad lives here. 
The Chester Lodge were so accommodating & I would recommend them to everyone! 
There were 20+ of us and each and every one of us felt like a valued visitor! 
I am baffled by the bad reviews on here.. it's AMAZING here. 
They kept the bar open for us as long as we wanted, they even went out and got us some food quite late at night and breakfast was delicious!!

Absolutely amazing!!!

Very happy with my 3 night stay in single bed room. Breakfast service fast, cooked food nice. Friendly staff, good location just what I needed for my stay. Nice and easy off road parking. Was even able to see the sea from the window. I would recommend based on my personal experience.

Short stay for job interview & holiday time!

Booked this hotel last minute for my husband, 2 daughters and grandchild for 4 nights.  Clean, comfortable and lovely breakfast.  The owner and staff were very friendly especially to my young granddaughter.  They also let my eldest daughter join us for the last night.  A bit old fashioned and basic but that was one of the things we loved.  It was like the B&Bs I stayed in on the island when I was a child, when I brought my own children and when I brought my older grandchildren.  It is perfectly located for the town and beach and the price was extremely reasonable.  We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay 

Short Family Break

Very friendly owner. Breakfast was very well cooked and served with a smile. I think the lady who served breakfast was called Sue. She was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is full of character and the rooms were nice.
Only negative was that a lounge and bar are advertised on their website but wasn't open all week, not even for the Jubilee. We were looking forward to spending time in the evening together in the lounge and were therefore disappointed.  Other guests were too.

Carpark not big enough when attached hairdressers is open.

Short bread at Chester Lodge

My husband, daughter and I stayed at Chester Lodge for 4 nights. The host was very friendly, helpful and welcoming and the free parking out the front was a bonus. The room we stayed in was clean, but very dated and cramped. The whole establishment could do with some modernising. We paid for breakfast, which was OK, but you had literally a half hour window in which you were expected to be seated and order, which didn’t work if you wanted to be up and out earlier. I feel our stay was very overpriced for what we got, though it wasn’t a terrible experience.

Friendly host, clean room, but very overpriced

The hotel is filthy in the public rooms downstairs and has an over powering musky and damp smell throughout. Floors and carpets filthy and threadbear, hotel  in desperate need of redecorating some areas hasn’t seen paint in years. As for our room unfortunately no improvements there same as downstairs. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Very poor customer service, were unable to travel to the UK due to bad weather conditions. Tried to change the booking for one day but the weather was still not good to fly in to UK. Tried to explain the situation several times and very early but they declined to give a refund or even a discount.

So they took my full money for no efforts!

I can not recommend at all!
