Stayed just the one night for work. Was greeted by the host, who could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Had a double room with en-suite, which was large, immaculately clean and had a superb view over the gardens. Local pub within 200 yards or so, which looked like a very appealing country village pub. Everything was simple superb. Thank you 

Relaxing location, really nice hosts

An excellent overnight stop over.  A very welcome hello with tea and biscuits on the lawn.  Lovely room with everything we required followed by a good breakfast to see us on our way.
Lovely grounds and Fotheringhay remains a quiet charming village with an excellent pub if you require an evening meal.
Close enough to the A1 to be convenient to get to, but far enough away to be at peace in the countryside.

A little gem but still convenient to the A1.

Had a lovely stay here. Loved the grounds, room was spacious, nice homely lounge to lounge in, decent breakfast, and pleasant, helpful service. My only gripe was the pillows were too soft & squidgy, which I find at many hotels, but was provided with a good firm replacement pillow which was just what I needed. Would heartily recommend staying here.

An enjoyable stay

My fishing partner and I (Richard) recently spent 4 nights at Castle Farm Guest House with the delightful Stephanie. We shared a twin bedded very well appointed room with superb bathroom and fittings. We had an excellent breakfast and are looking forward to returning there some time later this year. 
P.S. Do all the rooms have such exotic statues Stephanie as my wife is still laughing!

Excellent location for Rutland Water

The house of the bed and breakfast is fit for kings and queens.  Mary Queen of Scots wasn't given such a great place to stay when she stayed in Fotheringhay.  The area surrounding the Guest House are stunning and you can see this from the photos on this page.  The bedrooms can't be faulted and for the life of me I can't find the duvet cover we had on our bed on Google and we won't stop looking.  It was luxurious.  The coffee we had for breakfast was great.  The full English breakfast was good.  We will be recommending this Guest House to guests who come to see us in Lincolnshire.  Family in the South coming to stay will find this half way stopover very relaxing.  There's also a guests' living room with a stunning view of the back garden sweeping down to the river.  Can't fault the place.

Felt like royalty

We loved staying here. Our room was immaculate, very clean, comfy and spacious and our hostess very friendly. Breakfasts were tasty. The house is right next to the historic mound of Fotheringhay Castle and the peaceful gardens run down to the River Nene

Excellent comfy B and B

We stayed here towards the end of August 2020 for an initial two nights which we extended to three within hours. We were initially apprehensive about the lack of pictures of the rooms (particularly as some reviews suggest they are dated), but there was absolutely no need to be. We had our own entrance to the section of the farm our room was in, which was the perfect blend of new and old; underfloor heating/smart tv/power shower but traditional furniture in keeping with the age of the property. We knew the gardens would be nice, but wow; as a keen fisherman I barely left the riverbank from which I have rarely seen a better sunrise setting (swans/owls/kingfishers/big fish all seen/heard). The hosts are delightful and be sure to ask about the family history in the village, from which we managed to walk to at least 7/8 pubs (proper pubs) without breaking too much of a sweat. All in all, we will be back, and my partner and I couldn’t recommend a better place for a relaxing weekend away.

Thoroughly recommended. Very comfortable room , good shower , lovely garden . The village is well worth visiting , especially the church . 
Breakfast cooked to order , allergies carefully catered for .

Lovely place to stay

We stayed at the Castle Farm Guest House twice in the week, to break the journey to and from North Norfolk.  Big comfortable rooms with all you could ask, including a strong shower.  In a most attractive house, overlooking the bridge over the River Nene, on the edge of the lovely village with the castle site adjoining.  The warmest of welcomes, with nothing too much trouble and an excellent breakfast.  In a word, perfection.

Perfection

I booked this for my husband to stay as he was in Peterborough for work.  He said it was a very good place to stay.  Beautiful village.  Lovely comfortable B & B and a very nice lady as host.  Good cooked breakfast.  He was staying somewhere else later in the week but would have much preferred to come back here.  Highly recommended.
