We have just left a two night stay in the treehouse and have been blown away by its comfort, uniqueness and location. The treehouse is overlooking a beautiful lake with Ducks and ducklings  
We were blessed by the good weather which also made our experience even better. 
If you are considering staying here, book!  You will not be disappointed. Tom, the Manager could not do enough to accommodate us. Thank you!
There are two bedrooms although it maybe a little cramped with four if weather wet. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all amenities and they even supplied bread, milk, butter, jam tea and coffee etc. 
The main bedroom was warm and cosy with very comfortable bed leading onto a beautiful bathroom with an oversized copper bath and separate shower. Body gel, shampoos and body lotion all being supplied. 
All in all, we have had the most amazing stay and cannot recommend it enough.

BLOWN AWAY BY TREEHOUSE STAY!

Have not stayed here before but would certainly go back. 
Very friendly and efficient staff. The food was excellent, not an extensive menu but very well prepared and served. Room was entirely satisfactory but did not rate 5 stars. Hotel is in a lovely location, pretty much in the middle of nowhere which suits us but would not suit everyone

A good find in mid Devon.

Wow! If you are looking for an escape to the countryside, with absolutely brilliant food, atmosphere, lovely staff and hosts, then you should look no further. We are yet to experience a more dog friendly venue. There are many hotels which tolerate dogs. This is a hotel where the team clearly love dogs and make sure that they are having as great a time as their pawrents. All the dogs were lovely and sociable and it was great for our relatively young pup to improve his social skills with both dogs and humans in a caring and relaxed environment.
The hotel is situate on the River Taw. Day ticket fishing is available and highly recommended. Matt and Tom are on hand to provide advice on the best pools and flies and to share tales of fish netted - as well as the "tugs" and "long-range releases" that all anglers will know well. They have a brilliant knowledge of the local beats which host wild Brown Trout, Salmon and Seatrout. The beats are truly beautiful and exactly what you need to unwind and relax in the nature. I managed to net a respectable Brown Trout which was in mint condition - lovely healthy wild fish. I can't wait to return to fish the Taw in future.
It was a wonderful trip and we have certainly found our Devon retreat. We will be sure to return soon.

Just amazing!

Absolutely perfect stay for dogs and very, very good for their handlers. 
We went in the worst possible weather conditions and still had a great time.
Lovely food and very comfortable. If you haven’t got a dog you will still enjoy this place but if you have one, you’d not find a place better.

A good winter break.

I attended an event at the Fox & Hounds last weekend with a group of friends and our 4 dogs. Matt and the team couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. We had a fantastic weekend at the most dog friendly hotel I’ve ever visited! There were lots of thoughtful touches such as free treats, towels to dry off the dogs after walks in the beautiful grounds and even balls you could borrow for playtime. 

The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the cream tea and carvery. I’d highly recommend this venue for a relaxed, dog friendly break.

Relaxing weekend with friends

The location was very good and convenient for a local family wedding. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Our bathroom net/curtain had a considerable amount of mold but in general the room was clean, if a little dated. The breakfast service on our last day was very poor with a very long wait for food and a lack of resources to handle the amount of guests.

Great location but room for improvment

The hotel staff are all friendly and welcoming. Food was to a very high standard. Parkland also excellent and ideal for a doggy. The rooms were tired and dated and the walls were paper thin. We spent all night listening to next door snoring and moving around on their bed. We must of only had an hours sleep so not ideal.

Good and bad

Jean and I stayed 8/9 Sep with dog Ted, a working cocker. Trip was booked through Pet's Pyjamas who had arranged a lovely ground floor room with garden patio for us. We were greeted by Maddie who showed us to our room which was spacious and very comfortable. The beds in particular were soft and warm and made for a good night's sleep after a long drive. But first, the evening meal. We both chose seafood that night, a prawn pasta and the most beautifully cooked fish and chips, crisp and done to a turn. We found a voucher for 2 pints of local cider in the room, of which 1 1/2 pints were consumed that evening and the balance carried forward to Saturday. It was already evident that all the cheerful and efficient staff were there to make your stay enjoyable. After a vast buffet breakfast, Saturday was spent exploring the local area, lots of interesting walks for Ted through the gardens and the adjoining fields, and then up to South Molton to the Pannier Market, a country bazaar with many fascinating stalls. That evening, fish and chips again for me and a chicken concoction for Jean, all very tasty. Having spent the cider voucher, we moved on to a Chardonnay, cool and tasty. And for Ted? Peanut butter boney biscuits in the room, the odd breakfast sausage but mostly his standard dog food, eaten of course on the patio in the glorious sunshine. Dogs are welcome and all got on well together, behaving in the hotel and under the table at meal times. Apart from Maddie, we met Helen, Tom, Lindsey, Nell and Flo together with others who made the stay so enjoyable that, guess what, we will return!
