We had a wonderful time at Broccoli Bottom. We stayed in Fennel Folly for a few nights, and it was a lovely home from home. The lambs and sheep were friendly neighbours in the adjacent fields, and the owners were accommodating and cheery. (The owner and her co-worker made a terrific double act!) 
We cycled round Rutland Water, not knowing what to expect. It’s not as flat (or as consistently paved) as you might expect, and it was rather muddy in places, but the views are attractive, and it’s an enjoyable and challenging (but not too arduous) day out. For food, the local pub in Manton is good, and Uppingham is great for the bakery and for fish and chips.

Bucolic Charm in Rural Rutland

Lovely spot in Rutland with lots of lambs next to the flat. Very pretty and comfortable for what we needed for our short break. Clean and tidy and enjoyed exploring Rutland Water with my dog and visiting the nature reserve and bird lookouts a short jog away through muddy but pretty fields.

Just the ticket

Christmas for the family. This is the second year we have booked carrot cottage for a Family get together. The cottage is 6 bedded with the most comfortable double bed we've ever slept in and 4 beds in the other room. Accomodation is available in the other smaller cottages so anyone wanting more privacy can stay there.
The kitchen has plenty of equipment and all you need for Christmas dinner.
A 10 minute walk from the reservoir banks and 5 minutes to the pub, what more could you want?

A late review, but wanted to share our fantastic stay at Broccoli Bottom. We rented out all of the cottages: Lettuce Lodge, Fennel Folly, Carrot Cottage, Mangetout Maison, Parsnip Place as well as two rooms in the main house for two nights for ourselves, our family and friends for our Wedding at Normanton Church and Manton Village Hall. We stayed in Lettuce Lodge. Sally was really helpful on the lead up to our stay providing information we needed. The rooms were perfect (loved the vegetable themed curtains!) and a fabulous location for us. The lodges allowed us to all have our own privates spaces as well as give us the opportunity to have a fabulous the night before the wedding meal outside Carrot Cottage over looking the fields. Thank you so much for this stay. 

Fantastic Stay- Thank You

What a wonderful experience, the place is delightful. The host Mrs ugvale is very accommodating and could not have made us feel more welcom. The bed was the best ever, we will be returning in the new year.

Super experience 

We had the pleasure of staying in the Mange Tout apartment for 2 nights. It was perfect for a family of 4 with 2 bedrooms and a lovely little outside area. The views were great, beds comfy. We visited the local pub, Horse & Jockey, and had a lovely dinner.  Also had 2 brilliant breakfasts in Oakham - The Larder & The Hungry Birds. Topped our visit with a day in Stamford and lunch in the coutyard of The George and Rutland Aqua Park. Fab couple of days- thank you.

Fab location and great accommodation 

On our return visit this year to Broccoli Bottom we stayed in Lettuce Lodge & Parsnip Place.  Fantastic accommodation again, we could not fault this place in anyway. We had our dogs with us again & we especially loved the grass area around Parsnip Place.  We look forward to returning again soon.

Fantastic Accommodation

Just back from our second visit to Broccoli Bottom this year and it just gets better. We arrived on Monday  and stayed until Friday as we were down from Scotland on a fishing trip to Rutland Water. Having phoned Sally our host to say we might arrive late and she let me know she might not be there but the keys would be in the door and everything was ready. The whole booking process was flawless and the accommodation was fabulous. We will be back

First Class

We have just returned from a short break staying in Parsnip Place. Lovely one bedroom place ideal for the two of us and our dog. Fab shower! Very quiet setting. Lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. Easy access to all of Rutland Water. Pub in village a short walk away. 
Highly recommended place to stay. 

Relaxing short break

After being double booked for a place to stay by a bookings company, Broccoli Bottom very kindly accommodated me at extremely late notice. It was a great place to stay and I especially enjoyed the very comfortable bed. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
