Fab place to stay, Scott was really friendly and chatty, rooms had all we needed, liked the communal living room, meant we could sit together. Location was good for us, close to some lovely local cafes, and only £6 in an Uber to pubs and clubs. Will definitely go back.

Fab place to stay

Stayed here as close to proximity of GNR and the check in was super the lady really is 100% friendly attentive and full of information. The room was great clean tidy and spacious the bathroom was a good size 

But then try sleeping at night we were kept awake by the dog’s opposite in a back yard both nights barking like mad and would not shut up!! Number of people shouted at the dogs to shut up from various buildings 
Second night was same problem think in 48hrs we slept 4 hrs 
I know not the hotels fault but maybe take ear plugs

I found this hotel to be comfortable and reasonable price and central location for the City. Very clean and tidy. Michelle was very helpful. Professional and friendly. I would stay here again and recommend it.

Value for money and great location. Friendly & helpful staff

Stayed in a twin room with my daughter.   Beds were really comfortable and room spotlessly clean.  Fantastic location within walking distance of the city centre.  Thomas, the hotel manager was extremely helpful when we had an issue with the shower in our room, and he obviously takes pride in his work as entrance area,  reception and lounge were well maintained with the same level of cleanliness as our room. My only issue would be with the room rate which I thought was a little expensive for a guest house and breakfast isn't included.  However would definitely consider staying again.

Week End Break

Perfect, could not be better. Room and bathroom was spotless. Met by a friendly guy to check me in, he showed me to my room. Never had the breakfast. Not sure if I was actually entitled to it or not. But ate out both days anyways. Not a issue

Friendly staff and spotless

We fancied a B&B for a change to the usual Premier Inn, which last 2 occasions the bed has been awful, and always a Long walk to and from your room to get in and out of the building.
We booked a 2 night stay Fri - Sun for Oxford United FA cup with Newcastle.
As online it didn’t stipulate or give the option to book a ground floor, I contacted the Brighton & listed our ailments ! They rang me  and had a twin on the ground or a double on the first, we had the twin.
Very friendly on the phone and very friendly on arrival, parking is on the street as there are no restrictions, bus stop at top of road.
There are 2 lounges at the front of the building for guests, one has a fridge,microwave,sink,iron/ironing board, tea/coffee,sugar,kettle,cups ,plates and fresh milk, comfy settees, coffee table  & large flat screen tv the other has tea,coffee,sugar,cups,kettle, large flat screen tv ,coffee tables and comfy settees, this was a fabulous bonus for us as we’re tea mad ,can help yourself up to 10.30 at night and sit in basically a comfy living room !
The bedroom was spacious, clean, plenty shelves hangers for clothes etc  shower & toilet en-suite and basin in the room, which came in handy when I was in the shower hubby could shave 👍
Plenty of toilet paper, and 2 little hand soaps.
The beds were super comfy ,we were a little cold, but were used to sleeping together, body heat makes a big difference.
There’s a Breakfast room , note no restaurant or bar.
Lovely breakfast,1 of each  item, hash brown, sausage,beans,egg, toast, bacon was good quality back bacon. Marmalade/jam, choice of cereals ,tea & coffee.
Very Friendly B& B, as was every Newcastle local we met 👍
Taxi tip, put the Budget taxis number in your phone, it’s displayed outside on the door, cost £4 to get to the Gate, which has everything in it ,(bars,restaurants,cafes,casino,) in the Toon 😁👍

Homely and Great location 👍

The twin room with on-suite bathroom we had was fine. The beds were a bit on the soft side, but that's something personal. A shame is that the shared bathroom / toilet was next to our room and guest were somewhat noisy during the night. We were greeted on the day of arrival but haven't seen anyone of the B&B since, which isn't an actual problem.
The accomodation is perfectly located. The bus stop is at the corner of the street end it takes a about 8 minute to get to the centre (1,90 single fare to busstop Monument). Or you could walk ther in about 20-25 minutes.
If you're looking for a cheap and clean place to stay, this is your B&B.

Excellent for a short stay in Newcastle upon Tyne

Stopped here for 2x night while in Newcastle for a concert!. And we couldnt be any more pleased with our stay. It was early check in and late check out which was amazing. You have toiletries in the beautiful bathroom! And as for the beds we didn't want to get out of them they were that comfy!. We've stopped at some big name hotels but the Brighton was so much better!. Amazing brekkie, amazing location, helpful friendly staff, OK there wasn't coffee/tea facilities in the room but you could go to any of the lounges anytime and make a drink. You really couldn't ask for anything more. Newcastle is a beautiful city and we plan on coming back very soon and there is no question where we'll be staying!. Thank-you for a comfy, relaxing staff The Brighton and see you soon! (Keep up the hard work you're doing an amazing job!). 

Amazing stay! 

Admittedly I did book the cheapest single room. Although it was ensuite just. It felt like the cupboard under the stairs, Harry Potter would of loved it! The hotel is in a residential  area so is quiet, with a short walk to the main road where there are restaurants and convenience stores. Breakfast was minimal, probably why it was included in the price.

Dull and dated

Myself and 7 others stayed here for a couple of nights . The staff were so friendly couldn't do more for us . Location is a short taxi journey from the city centre . For the price it was ideal and we all really enjoyed our stay .
