My wife & I were married here on 24/11/23. It's such a lovely venue of which you get exclusive use of the full building for the day. Ashfield has stunning grounds and gardens. We were lucky enough that the place was beautifully decorated in all it's elegant Christmas finery which just made the occasion even more special. The staff here are amazing, from the initial discussion  of a potential booking, all the way through to organising on the day with Katie the wedding planner, every question was answered and every need catered for. The bar & waiting staff were all super attentive & a credit to the venue.  

The food here is exquisite: we opted for a Twilight wedding so didn't have the usual sit down meal & instead just opted for a selection of canapes shortly after the ceremony & hot buffet options early evening (the burger course & the fish & chips). All the guests commented how good the food was and that the portions were more than sizeable. Ashfield even catered for an extra course of bacon butties later at night which were a massive hit! Catering for specific dietary requirements was not an issue at all; we had celiac, allergies & vegans all catered for hassle free.

The venue itself is a very short distance away from Standish & the M6 as well as Wigan town centre and it's train stations so is very easy to get to from across the north west. There is copious amounts of parking available at Ashfield House. 

Ashfield does have a good number of bedrooms & suites available to book, all decorated differently from each other but there is a premier Inn a very short distance away to provide guests with a cheaper alternative.  

I honestly cannot fault the venue or the people behind Ashfield,  we cannot thank them enough for an absolutely perfect day!

Absolute gem of a wedding venue!

From the minute we booked with Ashfield House we were incredibly impressed with the level of service we received. We absolutely loved the venue when we attended an open day, so much so that we didn’t look at any other venues and booked on that day! From there the team at Ashfield helped to make our wedding dreams come true. We loved the flexibility of this venue as they went above and beyond to help us make our special day the best day ever, including allowing us to have our dog there (and run down the aisle). If you haven’t already heard it from someone else, the food at Ashfield is beyond amazing. We attended so many weddings this year, and by far Ashfield knocked them all out of the park. We even had our menu tasting like a date night and from that point, whenever we discussed the wedding, we talked about the food. Even when catering for some very tricky dietary requirements all of our guests have also raved about the food and everyone since has continued to rave about it. The organisation of the staff and how smoothly our day ran was also amazing. From arriving in our PJs and settling into the sitting room for hair and make-up the staff looked after us so well and couldn’t do enough to help us. This stunning venue is made all the more amazing by the people who work there and I would recommend Ashfield House to anyone who is searching for the perfect venue.

Our wedding exceeded all of our expectations

Another lovely visit to Ashfield house hotel for a charity lunch with 105 ladies.  The hotel has so much to offer from entering at the door to going through into the restaurant all set so beautifully with white line tablecloths and napkins.
The staff are amazing all just so keen to help.   From booking the date with Leanne and choosing a menu, table plan, room plan, dietary requirements etc.  she was extremely helpful.
The amount of messages I made with a quick response and nothing was to much trouble.  Leanne and her team worked so very hard to make sure everything went as planned on the day.   Excellent service all round and with a smile.
The food was very tasty and very well presented.  Compliments to the chef and team.    Some excellent comments made as people left.
The bar staff all well trained and efficient did the job of serving drinks really well.
I have nothing but praise for everyone who helped to make our special day a great success.  I would without any hesitation recommend Ashfield house hotel to anyone wanting a  FIRST CLASS event.

Charity luncheon

Wow where to start, Ashfield genuinely made our wedding day spectacular! All the guests were amazed by everything to say the least. The venue/grounds itself is beyond gorgeous, the staff were so helpful in every aspect. Everyone commented how this was the best wedding they'd ever been too and probably would ever go too, loads of guests was extremely impressed with the food some claiming "the lamb made them have an epiphany" with how gorgeous it was, it seriously was to die for the food! I seen other venues and nothing compared to Ashfield but honestly the staff make Ashfield miles better then it already is, which is hard as it's already amazing but they go above and beyond to make sure your day is everything you want it too be, we had a load of disasters leading up to the wedding and they helped in anyway to resolve them taking care of loads behind the scenes. Genuinely couldn't thank Ashfield enough for everything we did a hamper & got flowers but even that didn't feel like enough! It's clear to see why they win awards for best venue in north west as they are! I want to get married again to redo the day it was that amazing! I would tell anyone getting married to book with Ashfield you can't find better! The bridal suit was another level of luxury, the hit tub was sorely needed the morning after the wedding, the guests all enjoyed their night's sleep in the beds also. Would book there again for our anniversary maybe as we love the place! DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE you will not be disappointed!

Magical wedding.

Fantastic wedding day for Charlotte and Pete.  Beautiful service at Christchurch Pennington in Leigh.  Then a short hop to Ashfield house.  They allowed us a small family communion which was v special.  Then it let rip !   Canapés were lovely - as was the Prosecco in the bar. Great space to mingle. Photos outside were good - lovely setting.  Main hall looked fabulous. Food was amazing throughout.  Probably the best focaccia bread I’ve ever had.  Nice variation on the caprese salad with different tomato varieties.  Lamb main was stunning. Probably my favourite ever lamb dish. Succulent and beautifully presented and prepared. Dessert was made for Instagram!   And tasted amazing.   And then we danced the night away !!!  Pizza served in the evening was cooked in the oven outside. Again excellent food.  I have to really praise the staff who went the extra mile all afternoon and evening.  We stayed over - bed v comfy. Shower v refreshing.  Breakfast the next morning was excellent as well.  Thankyou so much - one happy father of the bride !

We danced all night !

Just driving back after a weekend wedding at Ashfield House. Brilliant venue! Lovely staff, fabulous food..I was also lucky enough to stay in one of their gorgeous bedrooms. Really worth taking a look round of you're planning a North West wedding.

Brilliant Wedding Venue

Very special wedding venue -  It’s a cut above and in a class of its own.  

Beautiful building and beautifully furnished. It feels posh and comfortable at the same time. Well maintained, sumptuously decorated and is spotlessly clean.  It’s a magical place, filled with grace. 

 The staff can’t do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble. 

Food was incredible, the h’orderves, the afternoon tea, the wedding breakfast - all 👌 excellent. All waitress service served on gorgeous crockery.

Again, this is because there is an attention to detail and a spirit of excellence that’s present in every part of the service.

We had the best day. It was so relaxed and I have no other words than to say it was nothing less than perfect. Even though the family mini bus broke down on route!

I attended a funeral there recently and it was the same level of excellent service and lovely atmosphere around the place in spite of the sadness of the occasion

Excellent venue and service

My wife and I got married here two weeks ago and we had the most incredible wedding that we will always remember. The day went better than we could have ever imagined and this could not have happened without Ashfield House and its incredible staff.

From our initial consultation they were very competitive with pricing, broke down all of the details as to what we wanted and presented the venue stunningly which is what made it our first choice. 

We had a Muslim/Asian wedding and they accommodated for our Nikah, registry and wedding breakfast. Throughout the planning process they were easily contactable via email & phone, answered all questions we had and made us feel very comfortable. It was an easy process which took out a lot of the anxiety from wedding planning. 

We were worried about catering as we wanted a halal meal with south Asian dishes but thankfully not only is the venue catering halal by default, but in order to cater for our dishes the venue's chef sourced a south Asian chef to assist for our day. This blew us away!

On the day itself, all of the staff were very attentive and really wonderful in helping with anything we needed. My wife arrived at 6:30am and the venue allowed her to get ready and provided a breakfast (which was greatly appreciated); as we got married around Xmas time the venue were generous in letting us use their Xmas decorations as part of our wedding at no extra charge; they organised the transition from each segment of the wedding seamlessly for us; the catering staff were very attentive in serving the dishes; the meal the chef provided was delicious and above and beyond any expectations we had - they had even thrown in a few extra touches which we hadn’t ordered! 

All of the feedback we had from our guests were nothing but positive, particularly about the venue, food and especially the staff. We’ll always remember our wedding day and Ashfield House is what made is so special. I highly recommend anyone thinking of getting married here to do so (especially those who want a Muslim or Asian wedding), the venue will really make your day memorable. We Had The MOST PERFECT Wedding Here!

We are one of the Covid impacted couples whose wedding had to be arranged not once but twice due to Covid lock downs.  Ashfield House were amazing throughout this time though, acting with integrity throughout.  Fast forwarding to our day, what a venue, what amazing food and all supported by amazing staff.  Not only did we enjoy ourselves, but everybody also had an amazing time, and the Ashfield House team played a massive part in this.  For me it is the perfect venue, with the best food and an unbelievable atmosphere.  Highly Recommend.

The Greatest Day of our Lives

We got married at Ashfield house in august and I can honestly say it was the best day of our lives  the venue was absolutely perfect! Rooms were so spacious and comfy I would highly recommend Ashfield house absolutely stunning place and the staff were brilliant. So glad to have had our special day here and I wouldn’t change a thing truly was perfect from start to finish. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Dowd
