Lovely meal and service with a great atmosphere.  The curry was as good as some of the Indians I have eaten. Pudding was delicious can never have too many Maltesers. Also cant go wrong with Whitebait as a starter. Good pint or two of Doombar which was tasty.

Great food 

A treat for my mother's birthday with my girlfriend and dad.
Ordered 3 roast lamb shoulder and 1 roast beef lunches.
Not much meat which was cut very thin like a school dinner, potatoes where over cooked on outside and part undercooked in the middle.
Bowl of veg to share, not quite enough for four.
The little broccoli we had was undercooked the carrots looked like they were on their last legs. 
The stuffing was rock hard. 
I asked for some mint source which never arrived.
And the worse part and if I'd known I wouldn't have gone there, is the dogs running around uncontrolled and begging at our table and barking.
Very disappointed how its gone down hill in the last year or 2.

We had a large family gathering  and were made to feel very welcome.  The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. All the food we had was great, especially the roast.  A lovely pub. We look forward to going back.

Superb hosts. Very welcoming, family friendly, 2 meals for £20 on Tuesday evening was a bonus. 
Well cooked steaks and good value childrens meals.
Well worth a visit.
Book head ~ understandably gets very busy.


Excellent all round

We have now eaten at the Red Lion on two occasions and have had good meals on both times. The first was on Mothers Day with family and the second just as a couple (with dog). 

We were warmly welcomed both times and thoroughly enjoyed the meals. 

We ate in the main restaurant/bar area on Mothers Day (8 people) and in the garden as it was a warm spring day. Both delightful.  

As one of our party is celiac we are aware that they are fully knowledgeable on what can be served to such customers. 

 

Two good meals

Well done to all the staff at the village Duck Race, super busy but still served great food and drinks to all…a huge turn out for the event and the whole team worked together to create an great atmosphere. 
We had the best “dirty fries” ever - want this to be on the menu again soon! Thanks to all for a fabulous day 😊

Amazing support of Duck Race event and great food & service

Lovely local pub with friendly staff and very welcoming to our family as we passed through town on the drive from Stonehenge to Bath.  We ate inside because it was still a bit chilly out but they have a beautiful outdoor beer-garden type space as well.  Beer and food were good, just what we needed for a quick lunch. An added bonus was the friendly dog who greeted us in the pub (dog friendly for sure, we saw a few in and out during our meal there). Definitely worth a visit!!

Warm and friendly

We popped into the red lion after a very busy Mother’s Day service.  The ladies and gent behind the bar were warm and welcoming.  We ended up camping over in their car park in our camper van.  Such a warm and wonderful family. Thank you so much.

You just HAVE to go - amazing food, generous helpings, lovely choices and, attentive and lovely people, very good value for money. Plenty of parking. Dogs allowed. Superb fireplace lovely and warm. Special deals for Tuesday and Thursday evenings two meals for £20

Valentine special lunch

A warm welcome with food being superb in quality  and further more a massive amount.
Congratulations all round 
The ambience was great with a very fresh line in decorating 
.Car Parkiing adequate  and on same level as the establishment.
There appeared to be a grassed area for outdoor eating.
