Horrible owner. Intrusive. Didn’t like him too much. Just a personal opinion, but it’s how I felt. Made my room unavailable because he got a higher price from letting someone else use it. I found this sly. 

Intrusive. Not the best.

We were aware that this was self catering but for the price was expecting something a bit special.  Firstly, it is off a main road and difficult to spot - only noticed it after driving past.  Room has a bed, storage spaces, kitchen with 2 burner hob and a portable oven.  It would have been quite difficult to cook a decent meal.  Drawer had a previous occupant's clothes still in it.  Bathroom was small and in need of a good clean.  Shelf in the cupboard had the remains of toothpaste marks.  Furniture was very dated.  Quite surprised to get a room of this standard at this price.

Overpriced and dated

We spent 4 days here last week. There was more than enough room and the kitchen was well equipped. It was really nice to find washing up liquid, sponge and cloth left for us, along with kitchen roll. The owners were friendly and helpful. Everything was beautifully clean and there was ample storage for clothes. The shower room is a little dated but perfectly adequate.
The apartments are very well situated for the  Beamish Museum. It's easy to get to the A1 which gives access to everywhere you might want to visit in the North East. 
A rural location but close to shops and a petrol station just down the road. Also on a bus route to Newcastle if you don't want to drive in to the city centre.

Lovely place to stay

the wife and i went for a short break to visit beamish and the wall. we were not disappointed at all with this accomodation, as Fred says it's a cracking spot. 2.5 miles from the beamish museum (if you take the back roads). very handy asda as well in Stanley about ten minutes away. The owners are right canny (to use the local lingo), very helpful. we like it so much we've booked another nine days in september.  i   would recomend these apartments. great setting in quiet countryside with newcastle on your door step.

short break

A very spacious apartment. Extremely large bedroom and living area. A fully equipped kitchen. Décor was a little dated but not unpleasant. Extremely courteous owners. Its location overlooking a field was breathtaking early morning. Very close to the Tanfield Railway, Causey Arch and the beamish Museum.
