Had sunday lunch, 6 veg!! Truly the best meal ever!!! WOW 
Friendly staff and atmosphere total belly buster! Roast pork came with stuffing and crackling. Hubby had mixed meats that also was amazing.
No room for one of the delicious puddings though, well worh the price advise to book. £16 for Pork and £19 for mixed meats i think it was. This is our place of heaven on a plate. We had a full breakfast here last July and truly anazing a place where you can take your dogs too. Staying over end of January and taking both our dogs. Right near the white horse and plenty of walks 

WOW!!!

Our first stay at this lovely little country hotel, only one night but saw enough for us to give it a great review.  Nice comfy bed, good shower (plenty of good quality towels), tasty breakfast with lots of choices and very good service. I thought it might be a bit noisey as it was a Saturday night but despite a full restaurant it was very quiet up in our room.

Would book again 🙂

Such a great place. Mattress super comfortable. Pillows were very fluffy. Bed linen great. Shower was really powerful and there was a long length mirror in the room! 

Food was great quality, generous portions. The fish platter was delicious.

Staff were really welcoming and friendly. They work super hard and the pub was full of people, making a super atmosphere.

Cosy, comfy and friendly 

After a lovely walk exploring the White Horse and Kilburn, we popped into the Forresters Arms for lunch. As soon as you enter the place , you can see that it’s  special - lovely atmosphere throughout and fabulous decor. 
We had Salt and Pepper Squid and a Fish Finger Butty, followed by Black Forest Dessert and coffee. The food and the presentation were  divine. We were looked after by the lovely Marianne and nothing was too much trouble ! We felt like we were visiting friends rather than just dining in a pub.
I would highly recommend this place, it was our first time there but it won’t be the last!

Fabulous food and top class service !

Stayed for 4 nights to visit the local area and attractions
really friendly welcome and  had a pint of the Yorkshire Legend and a half of Moretti whilst we relaxed and studied the varied menu, all looked appetising and proved to be during our stay, great Sunday lunch and excellent choices available for the breakfast
will happily recommend and will be returning soon for more of the above 

Very friendly and great food

A characterful old pub in a beautiful village. Food is excellent, wine list impressive, service prompt and the place is child and dog friendly.

What spoilt it for us was the extremely loud pop music blaring out of a speaker right by our heads. We asked politely for it to be turned down a little, but this seemed to be regarded as very wierd. At the second time of asking, it was turned down, again seen as 'Huh?' by the staff. 

It is quite normal to want to eat without blaring music! Most places nowadays, and certainly most food writers, regard blaring music as uncivilized.  

Good food and wine but spoilt by loud music 

Every once in a while you find a gem! Last minute birthday surprise ! 2 nights at Forrester Arms in quiet village of Kilburn.Great pub and atmosphere , good food , real ale! Wonderful room and stay! Amazing hosts and staff! Pub next to Mouseman museum ,workshops, ancient church and walking distance to White Horse! We had a great time! 

Don’t miss this Gem!

Lovely pub for an afternoon drink and a lovely place for an evening meal. Friendly and very welcoming atmosphere. Good selection of vegan dishes and non vegan dishes.  Would definitely recommend.  Worthwhile booking in advance as it is deservedly popular. 

Afternoon pint and evening meal 😋 

We popped into The Forresters this afternoon for an impromptu pint of Theakstons after a lovely Sunday walk.  What a fabulous  welcome from the gentleman behind the bar, and from another gentleman, who saw we were purusing the menu, and stopped to chat. I presume these gentlemen were the landlord/manager.  We weren't eating as we'd planned to have a Sunday  dinner at home, but we shall definitely pop in for a meal another time .  The menu looked very appetising ( especially for a non-meat eater like me), and the pub was very inviting, with very friendly, professional  staff.  Fantastic!

We will be back!

A day at Castle Howard and a day in York, where to stay close by? We found the Forresters Arms and so pleased we did. The setting when we drove up was beautiful and knew straight away we had chosen well. A truly warm welcome when we checked in and the room was very clean and very comfy. 

Once we were settled we went down to the bar for a few drinks before dinner. Again the service and friendliness was excellent. We ordered food, I had steak and my wife had the turkey. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious.

Had a great nights sleep, the beds and the linen were very very comfy and luxurious.
On the following morning my wife had poached egg on toast which she said was delicious and again cooked perfect. I went of course for the full English. I can definitely say, and I’ve had a few, it was the tastiest full English I have ever had. The ingredients were obviously top notch and yet again cooked to perfection.

We will definitely be visiting again because we felt everything about this place, the setting, the staff, the room, the food and drink were 10/10. Thank you to you all at the Forester Arms.
