We had heard that we would be in for a treat from friends who had already experienced the Bull, but nothing prepared me for how good it was going to be. We did the 10 course pairing menu in their Japanese restaurant and I can honestly say it was one of the best (if not the best) dining experience we have ever enjoyed. Everything was perfect and nothing was too much trouble. The food, surroundings, staff, in fact everything was a masterclass in how to things are done correctly. We can’t wait to return and do it all over again!

Totally memorable dining experience!

A wonderful 15C coaching house in the centre of Burford. Superbly friendly and knowledgeable staff, a good breakfast with a huge range of choices.  English breakfast cooked to order. Try and get the Trafalgar room with its sloping floors en suite full bathroom and full of original hustory.  Check out the bullet hole in the windiw frame  dating from the Civil War riots. Stick your finger down it to feel the musket ball still embedded in it.

GREAT HOTEK FULL OF HISTORY

Lovely old place . Lovely 4 poster room the Nell Gwynn overlooking the Main Street . Take ear plugs but had great sleep the bed is lovely . Clean room nice bathroom , sure it’s not pristine but if you want new go to Premier inn . This is hundreds of years old and very interesting . Lovely polite staff and amazing breakfast buffet we were stuffed . Treat yourself , very good value for money .

Weekend break

We have stayed at the Bull on a few occasions and love the place. Burford is such a beautiful village and the Bull is one of the fantastic buildings there. The bedrooms that we have stayed in are so quaint and full of character as is the rest of tbe hotel. The food in the lovely restaurant is excellent too. Staff are always polite courteous and helpful, can't wait to stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights B&B. On arrival we asked for room with a walk-in shower. Manager Kali was happy to arrange this on the spot. The hotel building is ancient and has lots of interesting features. Our bedroom had a stone exterior but inside was modern and comfortable. It was immaculate. Great shower and spacious bathroom. Good quality towels and range of toiletries. The bed was king size and comfortable. The wardrobe was large with plenty of hangers. The central heating was efficient. Breakfast was great. Extensive range of fruit salads, home made jams, cereals, cold meats even Greek yoghurt with a honeycomb. A freshly cooked breakfast and good coffee.
Kali was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Couldn’t, be better.

Highly recommend

We stayed for two nights from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day the staff were really friendly the rooms were spotless the breakfast was brilliant and was great value even though was holiday season the staff were always happy to help highly recommended will be coming back

Very impressed lovely hotel

This lovely old hotel is about halfway down the hill in Burford. We managed to get a parking space in the car lark at the back of the hotel although it was quite tight. Had a very warm welcome at reception and was shown to our room right at the top towards the back. Really unusual room with oak beams,  a sitting area, bedroom and large bathroom. It was lovely and warm even though it was cold outside. The restaurant at the hotel was temporarily closed so we headed out to find somewhere to eat. We soon discovered that, although there are lots of eateries in Burfurd, they all seemed to have very similar limited menus at much the same price. Quite disappointing. Had a comfortable night and breakfast the next morning was good. Lots of different foods to choose between and eggs cooked to order. Our second night was good too and we did find a better eatery at the top of the hill. Much more welcoming and good food. All together this was a great break and the staff at the Bull were super. If you like something a little different definitely stay here. 

Lovely old hotel

We had a very pleasant stay at The Bull at Burford. The courtyard bedroom was warm ,even though the temperature outdoors was below freezing. The four poster bed very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom looked as though it was newly refurbished. The breakfasts were enjoyable, and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. The only downside was that we had to go out to eat in the evening as the restaurant was closed in the evenings.

Very nice hitel

This was  lovely hotel. The staff were all lovely and all took time to chat to us, and our dog. We asked for a room on the ground floor as our old pooch has trouble with stairs and we were given a lovely room in the courtyard. There was a great selection at breakfast and unlike many "dog friendly" places, we were able to take our dog along.We would not hesitate to go again.

We got a complimentary upgrade on arrival and stayed in a huge room with a 4 poster bed. It was a very comfortable and clean room. An old building has a lot of charm. Very friendly staff, great location and very generous breakfast. Easy to find a parking space which is always a bonus.
