Horrid unkempt outside rough area just the worse experience ever. Smell on hotel awful musty odour so bad we left and stayed elsewhere.  No restaurant no bar. Needs completely renovating inside and outside. I really don't understand the star rating it has. For 140 I would expect far more at least tidy and clean. We had the money taken from our account. I really can't say how bad it is.

Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic hotel. We had a fab time here.  Great room,  car parking space and dog friendly.  Breakfast was delicious.  Very friendly welcome and well looked after.  We will 100% be coming back, recommend this lovely hotel. 

Amazing stay as always 

Lovely cosy little cottage, with an ideal location of about 10mins (walking) from the beach front which is ideal for walkers and about 20mins (walking) from the train station!  So if you are on foot 100% recommend the location. The cottage is situated on a road (there was some noise but nothing major) however it wasn’t much of an issue but if that’s a concern for you I’d bear that in mind. 

The room was clean and tidy, very cosy and felt homely which was nice, a little small for the price and the tv was rather small. But the facilities were amazing, fridge, hairdryer, big towels and wardrope, table! So 10/10 facilities! 

Breakfast was included and was very good service and yummy!

Lovely cosy cottage! 

I chose this specific hotel, due to the “cottage vibes” for me and my partner to stay overnight in. The location was ideal, and it wasnt an extreme amount of money either

Walking to the hotel you pass other hotels that look from the outside not very good, the area itself isnt bad but its also not the best and the reviews of said hotels are terrible

Me and my partner arrived earlier than we declared, just to ask if the hotel could keep our bags safe until check-in which the owner was more than happy to do, and more so provided some comedy about the situation (which I didint understand at first but soon learned that was his sense of humor)

The Room:

I paid £120 a month in advance for the comfort en-suite including a free breakfast (which was amazing)

The actual room itself was very clean, appropriately decorated, and the bathroom was also spacious which was refreshing. The bed was very nice, the mattress was the perfect balance, facilities were great, fridge was superb etc…

The only negatives about the room:

Even with the window and curtain fully open it was far too hot which meant me and my partner struggled to sleep so I think at £120 in future the owner should definitley have a small fan in the room. The “flatscreen tv” also wasnt that impressive and the wifi was unusable, sometimes one bar, sometimes would disconnect completely ( phone service very good though!) and finally the room is a bit small but it’s a cottage (and they offer a bigger room) so they get a free pass for that!

The service:

Apart from the awkward first interaction where the owner was trying to be funny, and super nice and helpful, but the both of us misunderstood the situation, he had a dry sense of humour which I thought was rudeness at first but quite the opposite!   

Apart from that initial miscommunication, I cannot fault Andrew’s service it was sublime. I didn’t realise this but he had sent multiple emails about the booking which were friendly reminders which I never saw (guests check your spam/trash emails!!!)

Andrew was extremely accommodating with the late notice bag requests (as well as the leaving bags until the last part of our final day after check-out) and I have no doubt that had we have asked for anything he would have provided it. Him and the staff served a truly exceptional breakfast with a whole range of options for special dietary requirements which really went the extra mile, with the layout of the dining room being beautiful and when he served my tea he even made sure that the handle was facing in the correct position which was a very impressive detail.

Overall:

If you don’t have a lot of money then I would say that a travelodge or premier inn provides better value if you find the right price, if you dont care about service or have extra requirements then go there. However , if service makes a hotel for you then this is the place to stay, there is no doubt that you will be treated like royalty there! Or if you do have a few bob and you want to treat yourself then stay at this hotel, a place (or hotel in this case) is made by its people and whilst I didint see the other staff i have No doubt that they would have provided great service. Andrew is a credit to his hotel, you can see the depth of character from the decor to the hotel room booklet, this place has character and therefore no boring corporate feel like other hotels 👍

Lovely little hotel near beach.  Staff very friendly and helpful; room clean; bed comfortable; fridge with small bottle of milk for tea and coffee; range of specialist teas on landing; excellent breakfast which catered for gluten free (even a choice of bread!).  Would definitely recommend for short stay.

Lovely little hotel

Had a warm welcome from the owner. We were pleasantly surprised when we went to our room. The room and ensuite were both spotlessly clean and bed comfortable. Towels and soft furnishings were in good condition. Breakfast was good. We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay longer.
All the communal areas were clean. The hotel is small without some of the amenities of larger hotels but is excellent value for money compared to other local hotels. Would definitely return.

Overnight stay

Booked last minute, couldnt have been more friendly. The rooms were spacious as was the en-suite. Beautiful and clean.
Breakfast included and very good.
Just 1 min walk from the beach so locations was fantastic.
Free parking and we could take our dog.
All in all great place.

Very friendly, clean,  lovely bedrooms

The room was very clean, the staff were very freindly and made you feel welcome. The breakfast was full English with cereals first. Lost of teas and coffees left in room with a small bottle of milk each day. The bed was also very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and will be going back next time we are down that way for sure. They also have a small car park which helps. The location was great too, just a few minutes walk to Bournemouth and less to the beach.

Lovely, quaint hotel

After a 3 hour drive, we arrived in the evening, the street was dark and we couldn’t spot the sign so it was actually quite hard to find the hotel. It is located next to a hotel which is currently under renovation and with a very similar name, so we parked in that car park and tried calling the hotel; no answer. So we went to the hotel next to this one and asked for help where we managed to get a night. 

The next day we went to find the hotel and there it was. We tried calling the reception to ask if there’s any room that they could give us since weve been charged for two nights but the receptionist wasn’t very helpful and just said “no”. 

I can’t review the actual place but the fact no one answered the phone when we called and then when we asked for help none was given, I’m quite happy we didn’t end up staying there.
