in Bedale for a short stay six of us visited the Greyhound on Thursday night ( Steak Night ) , the steaks ( from a local butcher ) were excellent , the service was great , we all had a fantastic time . Thank you very much .

The twin room was airy and bright, warm and clean. Ample Tea and Coffee (with biscuits) Bed was comfortable. staff were attentive and efficient. The bar was well kept and friendly. Breakfast was comprehensive, well cooked and piping hot. 

Would recommend this Inn as a base for exploring the Dales.

Four excellent days at the Greyhound.  The accommodation is excellent and very comfortable.  Steve is a very friendly host with a good knowledge of the area and made us feel so welcome.  We ate in the restaurant on each evening as the food was of a very high standard and beautifully prepared and presented.  The breakfasts were substantial and set you up for the day and were freshly cooked.  Would recommend without hesitation.  Thank you Steve for ensuring we had a lovely stay.  Hope the Charity Event went off well on Saturday despite the weather. 

An excellent find

Arranged to meet friends in another little town in North Yorkshire - but table cancelled as couldn't cope with our party of four with the large party they had, tried two other pubs in the town, but nobody answered the phones - found this gem on the internet - telephoned and answered by a real life person and booked there and then for the evening. Was perfect as half way for both couples and what a fabulous find - extremely friendly and warm welcome and the food was fantastic and extremely good value for money - this village may not have a famous sheep market, but it is a fabulous pub with great quality food and extensive menu.  Would definitely recommend

A real gem of a place! Steve is a fantastic host who made us feel very welcome at The Greyhound. 

A great mix of a traditional pub but with modernly decorated and very comfortable bedrooms.

Evening meals and breakfasts were first class and a very friendly atmosphere throughout the place.

Thanks Steve...definitely hope to come back soon!

A brilliant experience!

Had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel. What a lovely, warm and friendly welcome. A lovely modern clean room and very large, which had a really comfy bed. Also enjoyed a fabulous evening meal in their restuarant ( rib eye steak and  chicken supreme )  and an equally wonderful breakfast all served very hot. Would definitley reccommend.

We have just returned from our 4th overnight stay at The Greyhound.Great food,friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. 
Ideal stop over for traveling up to Scotland. 
Nice quiet and safe location.

Lovely location in the quiet village of Hackforth but close enough to the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and market towns .
Host Steve makes every effort to make guests comfortable

Third visit in a year !

Couldn’t fault anything.   Steve is a perfect host and always on hand for any advice. We stayed 3 nights with our dog and dined each night with excellent food well served and well presented. The room as spacious, clean and had more than enough storage, sockets for the hairdryer close to the mirror as many places don’t!  Good friendly locals each evening and hope to return very soon to The Greyhound which is situated in a lovely scenic area and provides a great base for a trip. Thanks Steve

Yesterday we had wife’s Mother with us so it was along to The Greyhound for a late Sunday Lunch (it certainly ticks our box that they serve Sunday Lunch right through to 4pm.
Suggest a telephone booking in advance so you get exactly what you might like as the current meat offering is Beef, Pork & Chicken)
In the bar area it’s extremely dog friendly (but take note not in the Dining Room which to me is how it should be) so if you like to take the pooch out with you then you can here in the bar.
So between the 3 of us we tried the Roast Beef and the Pork with Stuffing plus the usual accompaniments served alongside.
It was a really lovely meal from start to finish.
Then the mother in law managed her absolute favourite a very boozy sherry trifle that most certainly got the thumbs up.
After our meal we were happy to share with Steve and his chef that this Sunday Lunch was positively in a different league to another place we ate at the previous weekend. 
Chalk & Cheese spring to mind.
As we head towards Autumn/Winter this might just become a regular late Sunday afternoon treat for us.
Well done to Steve and his team including chef of course but also the young serving on staff who are extremely pleasant and attentive.
