If you're considering booking a stay here please do it! We paid £50 and got a massive room which was clean and cozy. When met at reception a lovely man greeted us and then took us outside to show us our room. We also had an amazing view from the window in the room of rolling fields. Will definitely be back as we missed breakfast and smelt the food when checking out (it smelt delicious).

Lovely place and polite staff!

Four of us attended here for evening meal for early birthdays for myself and my daughter in law  birthdays and we were not disappointed. The experience from walking in to walking out was positive and welcoming. The drinks were reasonably priced. The service was was very attentive and the food was the icing on the cake.... Perfect!  

We all had different starters, I had mussels which were yummy. The other had Pate, Garlic Mushrooms and Tandoori Chicken of course we all had  a taste of each others so I can therefore vouch they all were tasty. We all had Filet Steak which was perfect, it melted in you mouth. Umm could eat it again... followed by various desserts and cheeseboard. Thank you Jersey Farm for making our birthday special and delicious. We will be back and if your reading this and thinking about going ....  go you don’t regret it.

Superb meal with friendly efficient staff

My daughter and myself went to lunch here today 8/12/19 was very impressed, great choice of meats and the veg was great too .. you get a lot for your money and walk red hot too ..will defo come again .. 

Good parking too and staff were very helpful and polite.

Great Sunday lunch !

So I pretty much live in hotels and in the last year I've had my highs and my lows but I must say this is the best stay yet. So my company forgot to book me in however there was none of this it's not on the system lark, Mark who met me said don't panic and booked me into my room and said he'd sort it out afterwards and welcomed me (very refreshing), the room was spot on very clean and so modern. I went to work and returned for food to be welcomed by hannah, amazing service and so smily and chatty, an absolute delight, as I am alone it's nice just to chat and she was there to do just that. I later joined Tina in the bar who was very down to earth and chatty but getting on with work etc but still had time for me as the customer. Overall lovely pleasant stay and the staff and venue are spot on. Superb stay, the nicest place I've stayed at all year.

The Best stay yet

After previously having my oldest daughters wedding reception here and everyone having a fabulous time we decided to have our second daughters wedding reception there too  The staff were very helpful especially our MC for the day and night,, She was also on hand the next morning after a very late evening the night before.  Would highly recommend this hotel for your 'Big Day '

We always come here for Sunday lunch whilst visiting Barnard Castle as it is super! Such good quality and value for money. The meat is amazing, fresh veggies and we have never left there without bursting out of our trousers! Their homemade desserts are also well worth a try.....even if you have to squeeze it in!!

Great for families, nice buzzing atmosphere and there’s animals in the fields around the hotel so you can have a little walk outside after dinner, as well as pool tables, giant chess and a nice relaxing bar if you just want to chill out. 

Sunday Cavery Lunch

We recently had the pleasure of staying here and both agreed it was one of the nicest places we have stayed in. The location is great and the room we were allocated was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We stayed for an evening meal and had breakfast the following morning and both meals were excellent. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and we would happily stay there again.

A Recent Visit

I came here for a murder mystery night and an overnight stay. The hotel is easy to find and well signposted.  The Front of house  is small but we were greeted by by friendly staff who had everything ready. We had a room upstairs, and must admit the walls are thin, we could hear "Everything" going on in the room next door. The rooms are small but have everything you needed so there are no complaints.
The food in the hotel was excellent and really good quality. The bar stocked the normal array of drinks but was surprised there was not much local brew available. The murder mystery was very entertaining and it appeared most of the guests at the hotel were here for it.
Breakfast was small not really a continental style, but offered a really nice cooked option that was one of the best I have had, with the food not salty and really freshly cooked. The only quibble I could have was it was tinned tomatoes not fresh, but that is me being picky.

I've read through several reviews which were similar. Its a decent place to stay - yes the decor is somewhat mixed and, in places, outdated, the WIFI isn't great (but the 4G is) but the rooms are quiet,pleasant and clean with plenty of hot water. The food is good (ate at the restaurant in the evening) and reasonably priced. yeah the breakfast choice isn't great but it's cooked well and tastes good ..... very friendly staff made our stay most pleasant.
At this price point you shouldnt' expect too much but what you do is good

Good value but don't expect the Ritz

Not sure what to expect from the logo, but the old farm has been developed carefully into a pleasant family-run hotel and restaurant with a big adjacent function suite in an old barn. Rooms are either in the house or in a terraced annexe accessible under cover. We had one of these, a bit like a motel concept, but much more stylish. The room was all black and red and chrome, with mood lighting, a little private terrace with chairs outside overlooking the car park, and a big wet-room with spa bath and overhead shower which occasionally rained water all on its own...Excellent breakfast (eggs Benedict!) and good choices though some of the fruits and juices seemed to have been around for a while. Dinner menu also offered good choices, though quality seemed in the hands of whichever chef was on during our five-night stay. Very quiet place, and very good, helpful and pleasant staff!
