It is a 'wedding factory' and as such provides a very good day for the bride and groom. However mere guests are less important. The rooms are sub-basic with no wardrobe or towel rail. We did not find the bed comfortable and there was no hot water for a shower in the morning. 
On the day the food was good at the wedding breakfast, but in the evening the buffet was a very basic cheese and bread offering. Service was very slow. We were given the feeling that we were extras in making the film of the event.
We were not allowed in until one hour before the start of the ceremony.

Good for the bridge and groom - but not the guests

We had our wedding reception at Highley Manor in December and truly had the best day! We turned up after getting married at a nearby Church and everything was perfect: the staff were amazing, the food delicious, the atmosphere was perfect. Made more brilliant by the stunning Christmas tree and the log fire- perfect for 28th December! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and every request I had, they made happen! The honeymoon suite was gorgeous with a beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious the following morning. I wish we could do the day all over again!

Our perfect winter wedding!

This  wedding venue is brilliant could not complain about food or service but.. I booked a Cosy room which it wasn’t. The double room we had was empty apart from a double bed and two chairs. No where to hang your clothes no wardrobe no drawers. Cold and empty. Bathroom no towel rail no shelf, cupboard again an empty space with a loose toilet seat. The venue needs to simply upgrade these room with a few final touches of comfort. It was about “£150 for the one night so not inexpensive. Hopefully they read these reviews and make improvements as they have a real gem here in the Sussex countryside.

Wedding venue bedrooms need attention

Beautiful venue for wedding. We attended for a winter wedding, log fire and lovely interior. The staff were very attentive and we checked in early as rooms ready. My room was very clean, comfortable and spacious bathroom with fluffy towels. The food was all delicious and a huge breakfast too. We had a wonderful stay and it was a fantastic wedding.

Lovely wedding venue

Where do i start. We got married here in November and everything was perfect we couldn't have asked for more from the venue, staff, food, accommodation and overall experience. our wedding co ordinater Lynn was amazing she made sure nothing was left to chance and helped me and my husband out above and beyond her duties. if your looking for somewhere to get married you cant find a better place than this.

Wow what a place

We married at Highley Manor after booking 6 months before it was perfect in every way, excellent organisation and I as the bride didn’t need to worry about a thing.  Our coordinator took care of everything and we couldn’t have been more prepared nor happier.  Thank you Highley!

Wedding - perfection

My daughter and her fiancé arranged their wedding here. It is undoubtedly a beautiful venue. I cannot fault the service or the food in any way, both were excellent. The only downfall is the bedrooms and I suspect that because it is purely a wedding venue and guests stay only one night, refurbushing the bedrooms is not a priority which really lets it down. There was an overwhelming smell in the small shower room/toilet of sewage. Another issue from  a health and safety point of view, is the two sets of steep steps that lead from the function room to the outside terrace, neither has a handrail, which is surprising as weddings normally involve family and this usually means persons of varying ages and mobility. 

Beautiful venue but needs improvement

An exceptional wedding venue.
The stand out here is the staff.
Best I have ever come across and I stay away a lot for work.
The rooms are idiosyncratic and a work in progress but the food was great and again I refer to the servic. However, comfortable rooms are enough, and great value for money if you are staying for a wedding. Rooms are comfortable and great value for the area.
The landscape is incredible and there is a local pub that will do you a coffee if you arrive early, (Cowdray Arms) .
Ignore reviews pre 2020 as the hotel changed ownership and purpose.



Exceptional wedding venue

The BEST wedding day we could of asked for - we had our wedding at Highley Manor at the start of August - from the very beginning to been shown round to the actual wedding day the staff have been great - no question too big or small very contactable and made me feel at ease - everything went so smoothly - the venue is beautiful we were lucky enough to get married outside  - I had full use of the getting ready room on the morning which helped make things run so smoothly. We had the lovely Sam checking in on us making sure all our needs were met and also the pre ordered breakfast was a lovely touch and well needed before the big day - We are still both talking about our wedding breakfast and have had loads of compliments about the food and also portion sizes - bar staff were great - we had a live band and it really kicked off the evening entertainment - we loved the fact we could have our closest family and friends stay over for the night as well - breakfast and check out in the morning was nice and relaxed and staff continued to be as helpful and as attentive as ever - so many good memories made would love to do it all again - thank you to Highley Manor and all of your team I would 100% recommended this venue to anyone it was the best day every thank you! x

The BEST wedding day!

We chose Highley Manor as our wedding venue and wow, what a truly magical experience it was; from the initial tour to the day itself, and after. Its beauty captivated us on day one and continued to shine through on the day, blowing our guests away. Our smiles are just as big now as they were then; we have so many incredible memories - the mesmerising view of the Downs, the honeymoon suite with its balcony, the grand staircase and stained glass windows, our piper playing on the lush, green grounds….the list could go on. The team was amazing, and Lynne, our coordinator, gets a special thank you. So completely calm on the day, professional yet utterly relaxed. The way she looked after our four year old when things got a little too much was wonderful. Our day really was the most beautiful day. I cannot fault this outstanding venue. Book it, and you will not regret it!
