Firstly, I paid approximately 500 baht (£10) for this room. I turned up slightly earlier than the check-in time and the Thai lady on reception, who spoke very good English, allowed me to check in early.

It’s a large room with plenty of luggage storage. After a bit of tinkering with the settings I eventually got the old banger of an air con unit to blow cold air and once it blew cold, it kept me comfortably cool during the night and wasn’t loud.

Nice, modern and clean bathroom with all that you’d expect. Room had a flat screen TV, a desk and a fridge. Bed was comfy and plenty of fresh towels provided.

The WiFi in my room was excellent.

I hired a motorbike for three days with the assistance of the staff on reception. 250 baht per day with a 2,000 baht deposit (no passport) was a little expensive but enabled me to get around the place.

A Good Place to Stay for One Night (Room 204)

We were only staying one night and weren’t due to stay here but due to a mix up on Booking.com (we arrived at another hotel who weren’t supposed to be open even though it was already being sold!) we ended up booking into Kaew Place at last minute and being Chinese NY we were lucky to get it.  

Rooms are perfectly adequate, bed is comfortable and clean with air con, TV and fridge. Bathroom is a good size with hot shower.  It is quite noisy though when other guests come back but you just pop your earplugs in! For one night, this is a good place to stay.  The guy on Reception didn’t speak much English but that’s not his fault, and I don’t speak a lot of Thai but we both managed to smile through it.

They provide water in the rooms plus there is tea and coffee available in Reception in the morning, so for one night it’s a great place to rest up.

One night stay 

We had been staying around the corner at Gita's place but they could not extend our booking so decided to try here. So pleased we did! We had a large room on the third floor at the back so nice and quiet with a pleasant outlook, coffee and toast were available for breakfast all for just over AUS $20 a night, fantastic value.

Fantastic value!

Nothing wrong with This place - compared to the price. Its small, quiet, has tv, ac, refrigirator. But its boring.  if you pay 150B more you can have so much more valueble stay with greater comfort somewhere Else. The Guy in the reception is Almost Like a statue. Did not say anything. Even if My friend speak thai. Service = 0. Not rude. But just totaly uninterested of speaking. If you are a person on a budget trip and is tired sleeping in bunk bed in dormatory and want silener and privacy This could be an option. But charming - not at all.

Quiet, ok, but no service at all.

I don't know what it is (scam?) but I have never heard of a Hotel that closes at 8:30 and does not have check-in after 8:30 PM. When I finally saw (20 minutes after booking) that no one was allowed to check-in after 8:30 I tried to cancel and get my the money credited back to my card's account. They do not accept a cancellation, even 20 minutes after the booking because we would be arriving later than 8:30 due to plane schedule. Be careful! If you might arrive after 8:30PM, do not book here - because you won't be able to check-in and will end up paying for a second hotel as well.

Misleading Hotel Info

Cheap, clean and complimentary water and hot drinks. The area is fine. It is quiet. 20 minutes walk into town. 60 baht tuk tuk. When our taxi didn’t turn up we were run to the airport for a small price. That was really helpful. English of staff was very basic.

Good value

I chose this place as there was little left at our budget by the time we booked. I didn’t expect this to be so cheap though. Due to that alone you can hardly complain. It was also clean, the beds were fine and there was complimentary water, tea, coffee, ovaltine and bananas. I think that you could get bread and jam before 9am too. There were toasters available. It was difficult to get hot water for the shower at times. The air on worked fine. There was soap in the bathroom.  It was 20 minutes walk from the centre, a bit off the beaten track as it was in a normal residential area. It was about 50 baht if you didn’t want to walk. It was quiet at night. A lot of the guests seemed to have cars. Hardly any English was spoken. I have to say though that when our taxi didn’t turn up the young man at reception took us straight to the airport for a very good price. Thank you to Kaew Place for this.

Very good value

Great room with reasonable price. But it’s located in the middle of alley so you need to drive car or take a long walk.

Overall is good

Extremely good value in a calm, relaxed area not far from town. Very clean.

Wondeful Value

The hotel was sparkling clean.  The couple who own it were very nice.  Their son who works the front desk must be shy as he never speaks unless spoken to but was helpful when asked. Great location near town but set in a more quiet neighborhood.
