I came across this place when i was staying another place in Jambian, but this year i decided to visit and and had two days and three nights of staying there. i had amazing view, the place have ocean view and get the sun kiss in the morng when it rises, through the mirror from the room, The building is made up of mixing of Zanzibarian and western style with supported of arts painted around the places i.e rooms and outside. the food and services provided is nice too,  i would suggest for other travelers to stay here as well. 

Our flight was delayed therefore arrived a day late. I emailed 'Jamilah' owner of hotel once had WiFi access. Jamilah the owner was considerate as she responded with 'no problem' (Hakuna Matata, (Swahilli). Once we arrived, we were taken to a small and very clean room, but  without a fridge or long mirror.  I had a word with Jamilah and she assured me that she would sort a fridge and long mirror for us.  By the end of the evening a fridge and a mirror arrived.  I was so grateful as Jamilah went out her way to ensure that she dealt with my request.  All the staff at the hotel was so helpful especially Osman and Chef (Asanti Sana!).  The hotel is a few steps away from the beach, and within a village. The beach is hen the tide comes in and out.  There are Masai tribesman selling their goods on the beach who are very polite. If you have already bought goods just tell them and they will leave you alone.  The beach you can walk from one end to the other, where there are bars, hotels and restaurants.  The Hotel has a varied menu and we ate there regularly.  The food is wonderful in Zanzibar.  I can honestly say I didn't have a bad meal.  My husband and I got to know the villagers well, and my husband went fishing with them and caught Octopus and some small fish. The Chef at the hotel was happy to cook them for us.  We did manage a trip to Dar Es Salaam as well.  We did also visited Stone Town, Prison Island. We had a wonderful time and hope to return to Tanzania for a Safari.

This hotel is amazing! We spent 11 days of holiday there and I can say it’s absolutely worthy! The place is clean and very quiet, the only thing you can hear is the wind on the palm tree leaves! Just across the road there’s a nice terrace with amazing view, if you want to eat there you can do so, there is restaurant of the hotel. Often my even a monkeys come to make some company:-)
If we go back to Jambiani for sure we will be staying there again!

We stayed at the Art Hotel for two nights and loved it. Jamila was a lovely host and her staff treated us well. The beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets, the pool was just the right size and the breakfast was good with fresh coffee, fruit, fruit juice, eggs and toast. Up the road were a number of lovely little dining spots and the village of Jambiani. The Indian Ocean is directly in front of the hotel and beach access is a set of stone steps down to it. I highly recommend this spot!

We stayed at the art hotel for 7 nights and we loved it! On our first day we met the family of the owner Jamilah and felt home right away. 

The hotel is located in the middle of the village with all the pro's and con's. If you get used to it, village life around the hotel does not bother at all. It just adds some spice to some relaxing days. 

The rooms were cleaned every day and very comfortable. Food, as mentioned in other comments was great. The chef prepared everything fresh and (as we were the only guests most of the days) personally for us. Everybody from the staff is very friendly and always happy to teach some Suwaheli.

We had a wonderful time in Jamilah's place. She and Hassan (and all the staff) are very friendy and always available - and smiling :)
The location is a very small hotel (4 big rooms only), with a great location (litteraly 10 meters away from a wonderful beach). 
You can even eat there for convenience (but also try some of the many restaurants available at walking distance).
Jamilah and Hassan can also help with excursions all around the island.
A great place to stay, enjoy and discover Zanzibar.

It’s a lovely hotel in a quiet part of Jambiani (almost very south of the village). 
We loved our stay a lot! First I had thought that it could have been better located or that it’s too far from everything but than we saw only advantages in that. 
The hotel is very quiet and safe, it has a small pool which is convenient during low tides. Also, there’s a restaurant with tasty food (we ordered lobster 3 or 4 times) at affordable price. You can order some fruits at good price too. 
It’s located 10 minutes by foot from the village center where you can find a few stores and local “restaurants”. 
The village road goes between the hotel and restaurant so the hotel territory isn’t solid. And the restaurant is located on the small cliff with the beach where there’s always a lot of sea weed. So for swimming you need go for like 100 meters. These are probably the only things that may be considered inconvenient. 
The rest is just local culture, way of life, something to discover. 
Some people prefer other beaches because of tides but I’d say it’s very interesting to observe. You can walk on the sea bottoms, look at fishes, sea start, take some interesting pictures. But when the ocean is back, you get the stunning beauty and safe swimming - no echinuses or anything else that can harm you. 
I loved my stay a lot and I’d gladly visit Art Hotel again.

very friendly employees. owner Jamilla can help you with getting souvenirs or information for trips, prices for food and drinks in nearby village. hotel has a nice terrace bar directly close to the beach. you can have food and drinks there. if you want you can relax in hotel pool. very nicely decorated with local art, paintings. Liliane and the kitchen are tremendous. very fine fish, calamar, mashed patatoes, vegetables. fresh from the local market. close to hotel one can find station to go to neighbouring village Paje by dala dala. Jamila will also help you to have a taxi or private driver to Stonetown or any other location. Tell her to organise a bicycle, rent a car or a scooter. will allow you to move independently.

Nice hotel with direct entrance to the beach. Amazing view at the sea from the pool. Breakfast and dinner directly at the beach! Very friendly service and staff! I can totally recommend this hotel!
