Mbezi Garden Hotel

We needed a low cost place to stay for 2 nights in the Mbezi Beach area and this met our needs. It is situated just off the Bagamoyo Road and away from traffic noise. The room we had was one of the garden rooms which has a small porch in which there is an office style chair to sit outside. The room had a double bedroom with a TV, small living area with seating and a fridge and spacious bathroom with shower. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the air con and fan worked and we always had hot water. The décor, with the gold satin curtains and green painted walls would not be to everyone’s taste. The bedroom area is on the small side due to the round shape of the building. There is a very attractive outdoor bar and restaurant area with seating under small bandas, as well as a covered area where breakfast was served. This was basic with fruit on offer, boiled eggs, potatoes, beans and they will make up eggs on request. We ate at the hotel in the evenings and found the food to be very tasty and reasonably priced. We found all the staff (Reception and wait staff) to be very friendly and helpful. This place seems to be very popular with the locals which is always a good sign. It is overall a good three star hotel and somewhere we would be happy to return to in future.
