We stayed at Tianmu Star for two weeks. The location is in a residential neighborhood but it's only steps away from MRT, stores, markets, and Veteran General Hospital. We had a Deluxe suite with a balcony (fresh air!) on the backside of the building away from the street. I think the other side may have a view of the mountains. Ours has a courtyard view. The room is very quiet and clean and equipped with a washing machine, utensils and cooking pots. The front desk service from booking to check in/out is excellent! Unlike the typical (small) hotel rooms on busy streets in Taipei, Tianmu Star's accommodations are much better and more comfortable particularly for a longer stay. Highly recommended!

Great value and service!

This place really is a rare gem in the Shipai neighborhood that I otherwise would have never ventured to. Although not a corporate place, everything was very clean and any concern I had the staff helped me address immediately. There is not a front desk 24/7, but you can call them any time and they will come down. Staff was very kind in going out of their way to help me with my laundry and mail. I definitely will bring family back soon!

Very nice place

Was rather apprehensive before my stay at this apartment due to the more than expected number of negative reviews. However the service and apartment was great, and my family loved it. We were brought to an apartment nearer to Mingde Station, 5min walk away. Daily room service were delivered as promised, security was fine, size of apartment was just right for individual privacy (A master room with attached toilet, additional room and toilet and living area). We were also recommended several breakfast places near the apartment. 
Can't think of anything that would discourage me from choosing this apartment again.

Very Satisfied Stay(:

Great little hotel/serviced apartment in Shih Pai, just a 3 minute walk to the MTR. Restaurants, convenience stores and shopping all in the neighbourhood. Plus, for the budget minded, it's not a heavily touristed area so almost everything is significantly cheaper than other areas of town. For medical tourists, the Veterans General Hospital is nearby. I hesitate to write this positive review as the don't have many rooms and I am concerned they will be booked full next time I visit. Have stayed here 7-8 times and always enjoyed it.

Great Spot

Book the hotel on January 2015 for the family trip of 4adult and 1child recommand by  the staff service apartment can occupied .were even told can do cooking as there is a small kitchen but was not inform that we need to bring our own utensil.worse is we were told of the airport pickup service we were inform that there will be driver holding a sign to indicate so that we will have no problem to find the driver.
When we reach the hotel n we go the room that was assign we all shake our head n feeling upset.
When i waited for the next morning i request the receptionist that i request for the check out due to the poor services that we received and the best part the folder in the room show a price n the online booking show a difference price when questioned the receiptionist inform that the price in the room is not updated.
I was shocked to heard that n i immediately ask for check out but was told since this is a last minutes cancelled room i was not able to get my refunded.


Terrible experience

I made a booking to tian mu from 28 dec 2014 to 3rd jan 2014. We realised the hotel front desk is not 24 hr when we reached there at about 9am. They only open at 10am. So they said to come back at 3 to check in. After that they said they we are not staying at this hotel, we are staying at another place instead. Is not exactly a hotel , more like a small room. Until 2nd of jan 2014, they inform us that we need to change to another place to stay one night without informing us in advance.  Don't ever book your accommodation here
