I was very unlucky and lost my passport at the airport, but the staff at space inn was very helpful and I couldn't be more thankfull. 
The hostel itself is pretty good and is located at a really good location, I think I was the only 'foreigner' during my stay.
The  Staff  was fluent in English. You will never hear me say s bad thing about Space inn. This turned out to be a perfect 10.

The Inn is so nice and their staff is so kind, helpful and very approachable. The room is very clean. The CR and the lobby are also clean. They provide free coffee, free hot or cold water and free wifi. I gave them 9.9% out of 10%. God bless to all of them who accommodate us during our 5days of stay. 

Taiwan Trip 2019

It is quite near Xinyi Anhe metro station and next to Taipei 101. The areas for women and men are separated - different corridors. In the four-bed room for women it is silent, clean, comfortable - I liked the fluffy duvet. There is a large locker just next to your bed, with a separate shelf for smaller items. There are also separate drawers inserted in the beds for each person's shoes, so nothing disturbs the others' stay. The toilet is large - 9 toilets, 9 showers, enough washbasins and several hair driers. The common area has a bookshelf, brochures and maps, tables, games and computers, a fridge and a freezer. I used the microwaves occasionally. The complimentary coffee and tea are very good.

Inexpensive, clean, safe, good location

Space Inn Xinyi is almost entirely located at the basement with only the reception lobby and guest common areas on ground level. Always mindful of safety, I’ve looked at fire exits and found three. The first one is through the main doors where the reception is located. The other one is inside the men’s common toilet & bath  (see photo) located in one of the toilet stalls. Inside has a ladder to go up an opening on the ceiling that presumably leads to an exit outside the building. The last one is inside the women’s area. 

SIX is a 5-10 minute walk from Xinyi Anhe MRT station.  The buildings leading to hostel does not cover the whole length of the walk so be prepared to get wet in case of  heavy rain (I visited in March). The route is relatively lit so walking is safe although it’s the area is almost deserted on weekday evenings by 9pm. Taipei is ranked one of the safest cities in the world by The Economist so you’re going to be fine. 

You get what you pay for as it’s a no-frills hostel. They offer a small-ish bunk bed, a comfortable warmer blanket (good sleep on it), a huge common toilet(but really clean and has no lingering toilet smell), and security cards to enter the hostel and your rooms. The men’s dorm rooms with 6 bunk beds does not have enough space to manoeuvre except for opening your electronically operated storage spaces. There are two on one side immediately beside your bed with bottom bunk beds get the lower area. The space in your storage space fits a cabin size checked-in luggage so you’ll have trouble fitting anything larger than that size. I’ve actually seen guys use the common hallway outside their rooms to arrange their stuff. 

In a case of bad luck, three of the four nights I was in my room was with a snorer so obnoxiously loud that barely anyone can sleep. A couple of the men in my room bought ear plugs to block off the noise. So count your blessings if you get relatively quiet roommates (or even soft snoring). If this bothers you or you’re a light sleeper (as almost always there’s snoring in a dorm room), then hostels are not for you. 

Check-in time is strictly 3pm but you can drop your luggage at their  lobby if you arrive early. Alternatively, if you already decided to maximise your morning with activities but you feel that SIX out of the way from your tourist spot destination, Taipei Main Station  has hourly rental lockers to accommodate even the biggest luggage. 

Tip: 
- Request for bottom bunk bed. It’ll give you space to sort out your things near your bed 
- Request that your bottom bunk bed is away from the door if the banging of the electronic doors bother you


Know the fire exits

Located near Taipei 101, Tonghua Night Market and MRT Stations. This place is very clean and safe. At night time if you're hungry you could also try visiting authentic Chinese restaurants nearby. 2 thumbs up!!

Backpacker Haven

Taipei is certainly a unique city, a developed city with plenty of cheap options for eating. While the food is cheap, the accomodations aren't. Luckily, there are affordable hostels you can check into in Taipei, especially one so close to Taipei 101 and Elephant Mountain. Space Inn Xinyi is a futuristic hostel filled with automatic doors, space shuttle-like furniture, drinks, and fairly clean bathrooms. Perhaps the only complaint I have is that if you find it hard to wake up in windowless rooms, you may find this hard to stay here. Otherwise, the location and price make it hard to beat.

The Best Deal You Can Find in Taipei

The concept for this hostel is interesting with even the staff required to wear astronaut-style jump suits, and lighting dimmed right down on the basement level where the rooms are located, giving the feel of an imaginary spacecraft. The cavernous sleeping level is separated by security doors between women-only and mixed, and the bathrooms are similarly accessed by your own security cards. The layout is very safe but initially was rather confusing in the low light.
  One design flaw in the rooms is a mirror attached to the back of doors. The kitchen area which is part of an open lounge is okay, only one person at a time can use the stove, but most people here buy their food from outside. Besides, there is a microwave and a multi-purpose oven guests may use, as well as a fridge and freezer. There are also two Pxmart supermarkets located nearby, one of which is essentially 1 minute away on foot.
  The wifi was great, they have a separate network for each room, and the price for my stay was truly exceptional. I will not hesitate to consider returning here again.
