13 reviewsEasy to find hostel, about ten minutes walk from the railway station. The hostel appears to double up as a shop selling a very beautiful and varied number of flowers and it is very pleasant to walk in to the front part of the store and see and smell the wonderful products there displayed. The crew are very friendly and gave good advice on how to get to my proposed destination next day, the National Palace Museum (Southern Branch). Next day I was given a lift to the station on a moped so that was good. Breakfast is basic but was pretty good, they made allowance for my vegan diet and made a couple of simple jam sandwiches. There were those little tomatoes that are so abundant in Taiwan, also available. So...all good. But there were a couple of niggles. The beds were very hard, the bathroom was pretty basic and for some reason the tap in the basin did not work so I ended up cleaning my teeth using the shower rose. Never mind! The four bed dorm I stayed in was pretty small and there was no privacy curtain around the bed. It's next door to a park and in the evenings I was there (Saturday and Sunday) there was music and dancing which I really enjoyed. It's in a pretty lively area, some restaurants and such like. This is a nice hostel.
