Fantastic venue with that priceless feeling of seclusion. Probably perfect for all types of get-toghethers, although my experience comes from a wedding weekend. 

The staff is caring and awesome, the lodging good (better than regular hostel standard) and the surroundings are just estupendous! From the dinner/party ballroom u have free vistas to the west, the whole village is located on the south-west face of the island, so in summer time there's need for sun screen.

Spent two nights at Ulvön as a friend was getting married there. You cannot park your vehicle on the island so you will need to park it on the mainland and walk there. It is about a 5-10 minute walk.

The group I was with stayed in a mix of six bed cabins, equipped with kitchens and bathrooms and smaller self contained rooms. All the rooms as far as I am aware contain bunk beds. The log cabin I stayed in was basic, but completely fine. The view from the balcony was straight over the sea.

There is a sauna down by the sea, that you can use and you can also go swimming in the sea. There is also a tennis court for use.

There was a self service continental breakfast put on by Ulvön. The breakfast was nice and there was plenty of variety.

Whilst, I am unlikely to return to Ulvön because I am not based in Sweden, I would highly recommended it for a holiday or short break, especially, if you are travelling with children.

Spent a night here at the end of a fantastic trip to Sweden.  Highly recommended for the peace and quiet, sea views and friendly staff.  Reminded me a bit of Center Parcs.  Accomodation is in small nicely furnished rooms with showers.  The hostel is on a small island accessible by foot bridge from the mainland.

A friend held a wedding at Ulvön. My wife and I arrived on the Friday evening from Gothenburg Airport (by bus to Gothenburg Station, then train to Ljungskile and were driven the 5-10 minutes to Ulvön island. Cars stay on the mainland and you walk over the bridge to the island and onto the resort. 

The setting is idyllic, very 'Swedish'. There's a summer house by the water with a sauna close by. The main hall is up a quite steep hill. We stayed in a room with two single beds close to the main hall. Other members of the wedding party were in a mixture of these rooms and larger shared cabins. 

Our room was small and basic but functional. It really needed a good clean, however. We had to make our own beds. Usually sheets and towels cost extra, I believe. The shower was amazing; instant hot water and maybe the best water pressure I have experienced. 

Breakfast on both days was good quality. Yoghurt, nuts etc, various breads and cheeses and hams. However on the first morning we had breakfast in the side room to the main hall. Most of the chairs were covered in dog hairs (and the dog was walking around looking for food) which wasn't very pleasant. 

The food prepared by Ulvön as part of the wedding breakfast was amazing. It was buffet style and had lots of different options. 

Overall, Ulvön was a great wedding location. The setting was fantastic and food was great but rooms small and not very clean. Great value though. I think it deserves a strong four star rating.

We booked a twin room for the weekend and when we opened the door, we were faced with a tiny room with a bunk bed - this was so disappointing and not what we had expected from booking a twin room. 

My husband asked if we could swap to a different room but we were told that there was nothing else available.

We knew that the accommodation wasn't going to be luxury but we did at least expect to be given the twin beds that we had booked. I can't see bunk beds referenced on any English versions of the website anywhere. It would also have been nice if the toilet had been cleaned before we arrived.

The island itself is beautiful. What a shame about the room.
