In a great location short walk from Pidurangala and short drive from Sigiriya, family run business with amazing home cooked meals and happy to provide transport to attractions or anywhere else you make want to go! Amazing place to stay, definitely recommend!!

Me and my partner stayed in Queens rest for 2 nights. Manoj and his family could have not been more accommodating if they tried! They were fantastic hosts, both breakfast and dinner was delicious every day, Sri Lanka Pineapple Cocktails were also wonderful. The treehouses were very well sized and surrounded by beautiful Sri Lankan flora and fauna with fresh fruit grown on site and lots of friendly critters - a wonderful jungle experience! Lions Rock and Pidurangala are both in walking distance - Manoj even drove us to Pidurangala at 5am so we could do the sunrise hike (highly recommend) free of charge. They also provided us with transport so we could go and see the Dambulla Cave Temples (also recommend) and visit local shops and spice garden. We truly loved our stay here and would visit again

Fantastic Tree House Stay!

Food 10/10 Family 10/10  Elephant safari 8/10     The owner will drive you to the rock climb at 5 am so you dont walk the 2 klms in the dark [wild elephants ]

Great chillout place and close to the 2 big rocks

I loved my stay here- it was ideally located to hike Pidurangala rock (with a great view of Lions Rock) and the family were very friendly and extremely accommodating. We had home cooked food for dinner and breakfast with huge portions, and it was some of the most delicious food I had in Sri Lanka! It was an amazing experience staying in a treehouse and felt really immersed in nature. The family also have a tuc tuc with great rates and they drove us to Dambulla temples the next day, and waited for us to finish with our belongings so he could drop us in the main town to get a bus to Kandy! Such wonderful and helpful people and a bargain price. Can’t recommend enough.

Fantastic stay!

The setting is nice, the concept is great, the owners are welcoming and smiling... but: the huts are not very well maintained, the mosquito nets above the bed are unusable despite the big insects that live with us, and especially the lies to try to get us to spend as much money at their house as they can... a shame... we can understand that the times are tough (only 3 huts rented on the two nights we were there) but it's not very nice to be thought of as pigeons...

Potential misused...

Family business with people working hard to please you. It is in a jungle so you will have to share the tree with squirrel, peacock and birds. There is a lot to do in Sigiriya. Don't stay only one night. Plus, if you want to try real nice Sri Lankan food and learn how to make it, go in the Kitchen and help prepare it while drinking a tea. The salty breakfast with caramelized onions, peas, rotti and coconut was too good.

Best mama food...

Sigirya itself is tiny and the Sigiri Queens Rest Guest House is a little out of the way near Pidurangala Rock. But that's not bad because everything can be organized from here. Manoj and his family help organize the arrivals and departures, local transportation, find out where the elephants are on the way and help organize a national park visit. We were at the Eco Park, for example.

Around the city of Sigiriya

My girlfriend and I came to Queens Rest for 2 nights earlier this week and we really enjoyed our time. Our hosts were welcoming, caring, polite and attentive. Couldn’t ask for more. After Sri Lanka’s troubles last year, their tourism really took a hit and these good folk have had to endure a really quiet period as a result - but they really deserve your visit. Here’s why... 

I’d imagine that if you’re looking at these reviews, you’re open to the idea of a treehouse stay. These treehouses are stupidly good value, quirky, clean and comfortable. Hot shower, mosquito nets, pillows, towells, plenty of multi region plug sockets. Sure, it’s not the Ritz, but what it lacks in ritziness it makes up for in fun and adventure. 

Our main host, a young man from the family who run it, gave us freshly made juice on arrival, a choice of available rooms, carried our bags up to our treehouse and was chatty and friendly. 

His mother made fantastic food for us, delicious breakfasts and vegetarian meals (though they do serve meat if you eat meat). She too was warm and friendly. She even made us a packed breakfast for us to take with us when we left very early on our last morning. 

Other members of their team swept the whole resort each morning, helped us quickly when we locked our door key in our room and shuttled people to and from the local town (which we didn’t need). 

There’s a relaxing central area with hammocks, WiFi and fun wildlife, such as small iguana type lizards, butterflies and monkeys, as well a friendly dog. The whole place was super quiet and peaceful, whilst still feeling wild and adventurous. 

It’s well placed for visiting Sigiriya which was the reason we chose to stay there in the first place. I proposed to my girlfriend up on Sigiriya and our hosts were very pleased and excited when we came back and told them that she’d said yes. 

I really can’t recommend Queens Rest enough, either for those on a tight budget or those who want to feel like they’re sleeping in the jungle. A thoroughly enjoyable trip.

Perfect treehouse experience. Full marks.

The accommodation has a stunning location, I was staying with my girlfriend in a room overlooking the Lion Rocks. This is a very simple but very clean room. It is in the middle of a dense forest, so you felt like you were sleeping right in the jungle. The reception was incredibly friendly, we had a very long and extensive conversation with the owner, who could tell us a lot about the culture and history. The dinner and breakfast were very diverse and delicious. Definitely worth a trip:)

It's just a dream.

Absolutely cute, little tree houses that basically bring everything together. Double bed, toilet, shower, small terrace. If you like being in the green, absolutely recommended. Our house father has provided us with traditional food. Both breakfast and dinner. We have seen an awful lot of animals in the wild that just walk through the garden. Beautiful...
