Manik Home Stay

We enjoyed our last night on our trip to Sri Lanka in Manik Homestay. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the garden is full of fruit trees. 
Manik is a great host and she cooked dinner for us. It was the best curries we had tried on our trip in Sri Lanka!

My partner and I stayed for one night and absolutely loved staying here! The people running it were lovely and very helpful. The room was super clean and the bed was very big and comfortable. The best part was the optional breakfast, which was the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka(Rotis were superb!). Because the breakfast was so good we also got lunch which was equally delicious and so much food! (lots of different dishes). The lady cooking also brought ginger tea to our room which was very sweet. We had a late flight after our checkout so they allowed us to store our bags and even hang out for the day. Super recommend this place. Very special.

Handy location, helpful and hospitable hosts, and inexpensive. Fan powerful but quiet. Mosquito net and plug-in repellent provided. Stayed at beginning and end of stay, and would stay again. Food, transport and tourism services all offered but not pushed. Relaxed atmosphere.

We stayed here as our first stop in Sri Lanka and it was a great way to ease ourselves in. The hosts arranged a pick up from the airport (for a very reasonable price) and this was seamless. They also helped us arrange a city tour for the next day which ticked off all the top sites in one go, so a good option if you don't have much time in Negombo. The breakfast was outstanding and well worth the small extra payment.

Found this accommodation on Expedia very last minute on mine and my husband trip to Sri lanka in October of 2017.  They hadnt received the Expedia booking yet still welcomed us with great hospitality. Nice and clean room with a nice deck to relax. We told them we were hoping to find a tour company and it just happened to be that their family operated Manik tours! We created a custom last minute tour and went the next day. Had such a great time and they are such a nice family! I would definitely recommend them to anyone! 10 stars!

We spend our first night at Manik Home Stay on our 11 days trip to Sri Lanka. - We had a very nice room and got a great breakfast. - We experienced a very warm welcome and we really felt at home. - We can highly recommend Manik Home Stay.

We were there for our first day of travel. We arrived early in the morning; they were really kind. We took the breakfast and it was really good: totally local and homemade. The room was clean. The family is really nice. Fan in the room but no AC.

A very good way to start your Sri Lankan trip. Shehan & his charming wife Cush run both the home stay & the travel company. I was only at the home stay for 4 nights due to a tight schedule. Very accommodating, bought  some large prawns in the local fish market. Which they cooked for dinner, the prawns left over i had for breakfast. The Sri Lankan breakfasts here are a must & keep a watch out for the pet rabbit in the garden. Shehan is an excellent guide, it didn't seem to take him long to recognise what i wanted to photograph. I came back with some excellent photographs & happy memories.

Spent our first and last night at Manik, the room was clean spacious and the staff was very accommodating. The location is perfect right on the strip by the beach with lots of shops and restaurants. It is a family business and they also have a tour agency, we used them as well for the beginning of our stay and highly recommend the home stay and tour agency.  Also great location if you have to go to the airport! We had an amazing time in Sri Lanka and want to go back, if we do we will definitely stay at Manik Home Stay.
