Leslie, our host in Kandy, was incredibly kind and prompt in meeting our needs. From recommending local spots to arranging transportation, he went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. We had two rooms here, one for my wife and I, one for our adult daughter. The rooms were clean and enough room to be comfortable. Air conditioning and ceiling fan were present in the room. The breakfasts and evening meals were good. The location is good and allows you to sit outside and listen to the amazing wildlife noises. The host was excellent, friendly and arranged a taxi and tuk tuk when required for us. The host collected us from the rail station on arrival and was available throughout our two night stay happy to chat and ensure everything was okay for us. I would happily recommend this accommodation.

Good accommodation and fantastic wildlife sounds

This holiday home is run by a very kind family who organized train tickets for us from Kandy to Ella by going to the train station really early in the morning. It is located in a very nice quiet area and we had a fantastic breakfast.

Nice quiet jungle ara and very hospitable owners

Myself & partner spent two nights here and had a really lovely stay. The family are friendly & helped us book our train to nuwara eliya. Comfortable rooms with a/c & breakfast at a good price. The food was really good, and a variety to choose from. 
Would highly recommend if you like a quieter stay out of the city. 
Only 10 minutes max drive/tuktuk, or can walk down in about 20/25 mins.

Lovely family & accommodation

The family were amazingly helpful, even going to the train station at 5am on the day we were taking the train to try and get us reserved seat tickets. Also provided a taxi service to the botanical gardens and a little city tour which helped us get our bearings. Excellent breakfast too.

Excellent value for money.
A little further out of town but easy to get a tuk tuk however food and hospitality more than makes up for the journey.
Rooms were clean and tidy, very spacious with good air con.
Incredibly tasty evening meals, much enjoyed having some home cooked food.

The Perfect Home Stay

We stayed at Hanthana Jungle View Holiday Home for a few nights before heading to Ella by scenic train (owners are getting us tickets 5:30 am tomorrow .. hopefully! As other guests mentioned, if you can’t get them, the owners get to the station early day-of when cancellations occur, so we’re hoping...)
This hotel is charming, clean, set very high up in the hills with twists and turns and a pretty jungle setting and views.  
We stayed in a very nice Deluxe King room w private bathroom, air conditioning, on the first floor, at a very reasonable price.  Bed is comfortable, WiFi is best midnight to 8 am, though a few times it worked really well during daytime hours.  
Prabha and her son, Hassi focus on running the hotel, and her husband Peiris helps as well, especially with getting the train tickets for guests.  They are the nicest people, so kind and helpful, with Prabha actually driving guests to the train station or somewhere in town, and arranging tuk tuks/private cars if you want a tour.
Prabha’s meals are excellent.  Breakfast is USD 2.00 each. Not sure about dinner, though we had her excellent meal, but have yet to check out and pay tomorrow.
The second floor has two common areas for use by guests - sofas and cooking facilities, refrigerator, balconies overlooking the jungle.  
Here we mainly relaxed before heading out, as we’ll be in Sri Lanka for a few months and just arrived. We easily walked to town and the views are pretty. It’s usually a quiet walk down until you reach town.  However, we generally hired a tuk tuk coming back up. Note: the tuk tuk drivers often got lost coming up! And so did we!
Prabha, Hassi, Peiris (and employee Mala) make the experience here special and we thank them all.  If you like peace and quiet and a jungle view in a charming place, we recommend Hanthana Jungle View Home and the very lovely family that runs the hotel.

Recommend for peaceful setting and lovely owners 

If you are interested in nature and peaceful places that's the one. it's a bit far from city center, up a hill, but hosts are so helpful getting in and out and also you can transfer with tuk tuks in a good price and a short time. amazing view, delicious breakfast, away from noise and traffic, and very nice and lovely hosts. home feeling at all. 
I woke up with wonderful sounds of birds and sat in a balcony to the west looking sunrise and it was a beautiful moment to me...

We were in search of good place to stay around 10.00 pm in kandy, came for an almsgiving and could not able to stay in the temple due to its condition.
and when we call this place, owner was very kind and helpful, even though he had another booking in the morning, he ask us to come and stay that he would take care of the booking.
We promised to leave 5 am, but due to lot of tiredness we slept until 6:30 but the owner never disturb us.
The rooms are clean, bath rooms are clean, kitchen facilities and large living area and balcony for a good chillin beer!
We recommend this place as Sri Lankans who treat both Locals and foreigners in same way!
