We had an amazing family stay at this privately-owned hotel! From the warm welcome to delightful meals prepared by the host, every detail was perfect. The host went above and beyond, assisting with transportation to attractions. The rooms were spotless, and the shared kitchen upstairs was a great convenience. The hotel’s proximity to a family-friendly beach and a fantastic morning café With a very Google coffe, with prices lower than the rest of Hikkaduwa, added to the charm. Genuine hospitality made our stay memorable, and we highly recommend it for excellent value for money.

Tranquil Oasis: A Family Retreat of Warmth, Comfort, and Value

We originally booked to stay for 3 nights from the 17th to the 20th of March 2022 but we loved it so much that we stayed until the 8th of April! The hosts are the most welcoming family, so generous, kind, friendly and warm. The room was spotless, modern, spacious, big comfortable bed, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, equipped with all the amenities you could need. The bathroom was again spotless and had an amazing waterfall shower with unlimited hot water. The room has its own little patio area with sun loungers, table and chairs. The location is ideal, just off the main street which means it’s quiet at nighttime but you’re still next to everything, two minute walk from the beach and 5 minutes from the train station. The breakfast is amazing! So much choice. Huge amounts of fresh fruits, traditional Sri Lankan dishes or anything else you could want. What really made our stay was the kindness of the hosts, we got sunburnt and they brought us aloe vera, I had sunstroke and they offered medicine, they done all of our laundry, they updated us on all of the power cut times and made all of our meals during the curfew and 36 hour lockdown (which were all absolutely delicious). Really lovely people. We can’t thank them enough for their warm welcome and generosity. We can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Amazing!

Not at all as in the pictures. This places is completely different. Super clean, fresh and newly renovated room that was very reasonably priced.
Our booking was never registered for some reason but that was not an issue at all. The host welcomed us and even greeted us with some fresh coconuts that he treated us to. Rooms were not very big but was enough for the two of us and our huge luggage. Had everything you were missing something the host would arrange it for you. 
Nice little private garden outside with only a few minutes walk to the main street and beach. 

Very friendly host who went out of his way to give us a good stay even though we only stayed for one night. We would definitely have stayed longer if we didn't already have another booking. Can only recommend! 

Very cheap, newly renovated place with extremely friendly host

Was only going to stay for 2 nights, ended up staying for a week!!!  The lady who owns property is extremely helpful, even washing some of my clothes.
The house is situated close to the train station and there are many tuks tuks available nearby. The beach is also very close to property, as are restaurants, banks, etc

Great place to stay

I intended to stay here for 2 nights but with a reluctance to leave the coast an this place having the most lovely host (Kumari) I stayed for 5 nights. A five minute walk one way takes you to the beach an restaurants, the other way to a lovely local temple. As a lone traveller I appreciated Kumari's company, she a real asset to the place. The place is clean an great value for big spacious rooms each with own shower an toilet. Can't recommed enough an if I'm back in hikaduwa Il stay here for sure 🌴

We had the best stay at Tranquil Guest House!  The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - they're the best!  The rooms are clean, bright, and spacious. The location is awesome.  Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and the bus/train station. The wifi was the fasted we've had in Sri Lanka. Everything about Tranquil Guest House was perfect!! We will definitely stay here on our next visit!  

The BEST Stay!

Our host, Niroshan, took us to the turtle hatchery and Tsunami museum in his car and explained everything about what happened in Hikkaduwa and to him and his family. He wouldn't accept any payment from us so we bought beers back that evening and had a great night with him and his friends, who came with curry/ rice/ snacks and Arrack and coke :) We had the best night and stayed for a few nights instead of the intended one night! The rooms are very clean, spacious, cool and comfortable! Thankyou Niroshan and "cheers" to next time we are in Sri Lanka, we will see you then friend 🍻
