Great location right on the beach and good view of the ocean from the balcony and possible to sea huge sea turtle. The top room is very spacious. However, the place is very dirty, full of ants, including inside the toilet bowl, I had to use my mosquito spray to eliminate them. Although there is is a front entrance from the main road we had to find the entrance from the beach side, the entrance is via the kitchen and up 2 flights of stairs, very dirty and smelly. The fridge is so old and dirty. The bathroom was probably not cleaned in ages. The balcony is full of crows dropping, other people have access via the balcony so it does not feel safe. Someone came up, saying the place belongs to his uncle, and we could stay in the apartment until the afternoon so we could leave our luggage before moving on to a Negombo, then the owner called us and asked to vacate in the next 5 minutes  as they had other guests waiting to occupy the room. The guy who received us is very unfriendly. The photos of the apartment on the booking site is deceiving. Definitely would not stay here again. Very dirty place.

Very dirty place

The photo on the apartment booking pages is deceiving. Yes there is a great balcony but that is needed as the rest of the apartment is truly disgusting.

We arrived to the manager cleaning the dishes merrily in the kitchen and then stacking them where they live, on he bench. The glasses and cutlery are filthy and definitely not something you want to use. The shower hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The sheets were rained badly and he towels very old. In short; the apartment is truly filthy.

The balcony is nice and from there you can see turtles swimming freely in he ocean out the front. Because the location is slightly away from the tourist area, the beach is more deserted and a great spot. However the balcony was also filthy; bird droppings everywhere which clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time.

We were disappointed. I have attached photo of he kitchen as it was on our arrival.

READ BEFORE BOOKING

The location of this apartment is great, right on the beach at the northern end of Hikkaduwa, with amazing views from the balcony and direct beach access.

The cleanliness left a little to be desired and security is not great, with a large gap between the apartment front door and ceiling.

Staff are friendly and welcoming.
