It doesn't get much better than this location. The view was literally astounding. Great wifi for getting work done, huge bed, well appointed furnishings. Everything was perfect here. This is the project of an incredibly nice family and they treat you like you are one of them. 1000% recommended.

Beautiful and hospitable. Such an amazing view!

The place is nice and the room lovely- the view from the top room is amazing. The guy that works there tushar is lovely and took us around for a reasonable price. I wouldn't however stay here again. We had an uncomfortable situation with the owner when settling the bill. Make sure you know exactly what's included (breakfast, top floor room...) before you go. 

Bad experience

We spent 3 nights here after Green Hill refused to pick us up from the train station. I called Sunray and they sent a driver right away to get us at the station. The owners are very sweet and the wife cooked us an excellent meal at the last minute on the day there were celebrating their Sinhalese new year. The offered us tea and an assortment of sweets at no cost. Unlimited water bottles. They even did some laundry for us for free. The room was very comfortable with a fan. The hit water and WiFi worked well. The view from the balcony is amazing and the Sinhalese breakfast is very good had plentiful. The property is a little far from town which we knew ahead of time (200 rupees by tuk tuk). My only complaints is that they have a few small kids and they make a lot of noise in the morning. We also had a bad experience with his brother in laws who runs a taxi service from the property Seven Heaven next door (you can find two taxi services in town). Other than that it was a very nice stay!

Great view, great hosts

My husband and I stayed at here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts Basanayaka and his wife were pleasant, friendly and helpful in every way possible. The room and bathroom were clean with clean linen. The breakfast lunch and dinner were made as we requested without any fuss. The view from our balcony and room was amazing especially the sunrise and the waterfall. We would stay there again without any hesitation.

Ella's Treasure 

I staid here with my family  (kids age 3 and 5) in a family room. 

The room was almost the most expensive accommodation in which we staid  on our 3 weeks trip around Sri Lanka, however the room was much smaller than the average and because of the humidity and moist the beds were wet. 
We had also a dinner at the place, which was also overpriced.
Also the service was not good. Even though the breakfast was suppose to be available from 8 am, we were told at first to wait till 8.30, and at 8.30 the breakfast table was occupied. Because my little one was already very hungry by 8.40 when there was still no space for us to have breakfast, they  served us our breakfast on the balcony of the room even though the table on the balcony was not a proper one and it was really hard to eat on it. We planned to stay 2 nights in Ella, but because of the room we changed our minds and left already after 1 night. 

overpriced

Very close to hiking trails, about 10-15 min outside of Ella town. Great staff, delicious breakfast, and best part was the amazing view of the hills and bridge. A very nice quiet spot to stay and getaway from it all.

Amazing view, quiet place outside of town

Highly recommend this homestay to families and couples. The owner is a really genuine person and looks after you well. The rooms have magnificent views and are spacious and comfortable. This was one of our favourite places to stay at during our 2 week trip. Good value for money too.
