34 reviewsWe were visiting Vejer with friends and would normally stay at Casa del Califa, but this time they were closed for refurbishment and so we found this Hostal on Booking.com for a very good price. It is very easy to find, as it Is on the main road up to the old town, although having said that, for some reason our satnav took us a tour of the old town first, taking us down very narrow streets!! We had a room with a balcony, with simple furnishings, very clean and with spectacular views. Although the title is Hostal Restaurante, the cafe on the ground floor has closed. There is a cafe in the next building, but we found this to be very poor as they were serving yesterday's rolls for breakfast, something I have never experienced in all our travels in Spain. So if you want breakfast, walk a little further!! The building is quite unusual in that the Hostal is the 2nd floor of an apartment building. However, this does not detract, as there is a lift to take you and your luggage to the rooms. It was a very cold January day when we stayed, so we were thankful for the aircon/heat. All in all a typical Spanish Hostal, spotlessly clean and with the facilities you would expect - we would certainly stay here again. Just a note to the owners - please provide larger bath towels!
