We came to relax and recover from working tirelessly through the pandemic, we did just that. We stayed in a terrace suite, lovely big room overlooking the pool with sea views from the terrace. There’s no access from the room, but easy to pop upstairs. We didn’t use this as much as we thought as the pools at the hotel and across the road next to the beach were so good. Comfy bed, excellent shower and tea/coffee in the room. Service was friendly from everyone in the restaurant. Reception was a bit hit and miss. A couple of older female staff seemed cross but we just ignored that! Everyone speaks English, it is the common language used by all guests/staff, but we did try our poor Spanish when we could to be polite. Food: we were half board, not something we usually do but worth it in these times. They are mass catering and it was fine. Masks on to walk about, which everyone complied with. Restaurants in town are ok, try the Marina they are better especially Proas. You’ll need a taxi it’s about €5 We had lunch a few times at the beach club opposite, great Spanish food, with a spectacular view. Cleanliness: everywhere is spotless, and being cleaned all the time. Every precaution taken. You can also have a Covid test in the hotel €30 for a rapid lateral flow test, but it does comply with current regs. Pool: the pools at the hotel are very quiet and relaxing. We also went to the pool at the beach club opposite, which is exclusively for hotel guests. As others have said it gets ‘reserved’ with towels v early. But once the lifeguard comes on duty (about 09:45) they will remove them if no one using the beds after 45 mins. Entertainment: we wanted quiet and it was. There is a nightly singing act, different every day. They finish at 11pm and on a couple of occasions we were very happy they did as they were not great! Overall we had a brilliant stay, and would recommend for a relaxing chilled out holiday that felt safe. Oh and no children - we love children but it was rather wonderful to be just quiet and chilled.
