We stayed here for 3 days during our Kruger safari tour. The lodges are comfortable and cosy, the food is wholesome home cooked food, and service is impeccable. We were guided throughout, from packed breakfasts as we left on our safari outings at 5.30am, and good company in the evenings at the bar featuring lots of safari photos and local drinks. 

Wonderful Stay

Wonderful lodge! Friendly and so helpful staff. They looked after me so well! Beautiful gardens, setting and lovely accommodation. Always clean and cool. Super views over Kruger from their watch tower.

Matuni stay

In the middle of the kruger park, this Lodge offer a good expirience. You can enjoy the swiming pool and the beautiful views of the kruger national park and if you are lucky you can see some animals passin near the lodge. The service was good and the place is awsome. A good option to enjoy the kruger park.

Good service and beautiful place

We visit Matumi Lodge during winter season in South Africa. No more customers were there at that time only my family. The place was so quiet and relaxed. It is a private garden inside of the Kruger Park. The staff there was very polite and helpful. We could see some elephants just behind the fence of the garden the night we arrived and morning before we left the hotel. It was awesome. We couldn’t swim in the swimming pool because the water was very cold... but it was not a problem. We really loved the place. They help us to manage the booking of a Safari Company to do a Tour inside the Kruger Park, it was great. We saw many wild animal there. I really recommend it. 

Family weekend

Quiet place, relaxing atmosphere and best choice for a start in our journey (we arrived in the late evening and it was a little bit difficult to find in the darkness. We call the lodge a get a great support

Silence & Service Excellence

Very nice accommodation very good services. We were group of 22 people and were wery satisfied with all. The staff has contacted us 2 days before and ask about dinner. Unfortunatelly we do not have enough time :-(.

Wonderful staff,  meals were  beautifully presented and quite varied. Very knowlagable manager with lots of information and advice. Pool was wonderful after a safari into Kruger really refreshing. Rooms clean and mosquito nets were on the bed which gave us added piece of mind. Grounds were beautiful with many plants and flowers, there were a couple of resident monkeys plus a small herd of elan that wandered around the property. Small tower at the edge of the property were you could watch the animals in Kruger. Had a fantastic time would highly recommend.

Wonderful hospitality

The family and staff who run this hotel are friendly, hard-working multi-taskers. They gave good advice and didn't try to sell us anything extra. About the only complaint we had was the fact that no one told us the gate was not electronic. The unit was spacious and clean. Our meals were cafeteria-style with a good selection. It would have been nice to have a heater in the bedroom. The wildlife (springbok, warthogs, etc.) roaming around the grounds was a nice intro to the game reserve.

Friendly, low-key family-run lodge close to Kruger National Park

A very pleasant stay at this lodge. Good advices from the owner and her daughter on what to visit. Very helpful to all our questions.Our chalet was well equipped with everything we needed.Kind personnel in the restaurant and a good breakfast with options from the kitchen as well as a buffet.Possibility to make a game drive direct opposite the main gate; A lot of animals seen under a professional guidance.
