This small property has so much potential and the new owners are engaging and hands on. That said the website and booking information needs updating and this hotel needs so much love and restoration. Our rooms above the bar, were clean but very basic. Based on poor information we were forced to take two small rooms rather than a cottage. There is no breakfast offering, no servicing of the rooms on a Sunday and no offering of food or beverage on a Sunday as the pub is closed. 
The location is good but does mean that it can be noisy and the business next door plays music late into the evening on the weekend. 
There is also no tv or lounge area for the rooms in the main building, therefore you are confined to a bedroom during downtime, or an old lounger next to the pool. Secure off street parking is a bonus.

So much potential

New owners - turns out also new to the hospitality industry. After having checked-in, established that the Aircon was not working. It was a Western Cape midweek heatwave at the time. Further we had to rinse the dishes which were dusty.
I spent the evening with a friend in the village while my husband remained in our room. After check-out we had a dip in the pool intending to have lunch at the Old Potter restaurant. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A short time into our dip, the owner (Mr) came through the common pool area and was clearly annoyed. He brusquely asked us if our car was in his parking space - which it was not - the car belonged to another guest - and further asked whether we had checked out. We said that we had, and were biding time (between 111:30-12.30) until we could have lunch at the brewery. There were no other people at the pool at the time. Not long after this interaction, the owner told my husband who was having a drink in the pub, that the pool was for guests only - in an abrupt manner (perhaps from a previous annoyance regarding his car). We left the area immediately and decided to have lunch at a different venue - we already had starters and drinks at Old Potters though, thinking we would stay for lunch. As a Tier 4 Google reviewer, I wrote a simple review on our experience. The result was that the owner embarked on a character assassination of myself and my husband; stating that we had had an altercation that had made other guests uncomfortable. This allegation is a complete fabrication or the owner (Mr) is confusing us with other guests.  The whole encounter was beyond bizarre.

You just have to visit this amazing place! Everything you will experience, from the room to the friendliness of the staff, to the fantastic beer and the whole atmosphere - you will never forget!! Thanks, Tommy and Amy, for your friendly and professional service - it was much appreciated! We will definitely visit you again! Langebaan groete!!

A must visit!!

A lovely Inn in the warm heart of Greyton. Right on the Main Road the address could not be more convenient for exploring the historic town on foot. Or by car. A superb variety of Real Ales brewed onsite. Fabulous new owners. The accommodation is quaint and reminiscent of English abodes in the main section - and of Bo-Kaap in the annexes. The Wednesday Happy Hour between 17:00 and 19:00 is a great hit in town when you are certain to have the chance to meet many "locals". Highly recommended.

Greyton Weekend

We had the best weekend at the Old Potter’s Inn. We took the whole family (3 couples and children) and rented two cottages and one room. 

From start to finish this place delivered: 
1.) clean and very well furnished rooms
2.) amazing host and friendly waiters. 
3.) this restaurant serves the best onion rings we have ever had!  Wood fired pizzas and chicken wings  for the win. A lovely atmosphere. 
4.) beer on tap - the best! 

We sat down in the inn and ordered “one of each” on the menu and walked out less R250 pp including all drinks. 

They were very accommodating at every corner - we ended up having a lovey braai next to the stunning pool in the courtyard. Our children could play and run around. 

We absolutely loved  every single second of our stay at the Inn!! 

I would strongly recommend this place for families, groups of friends, and couples looking for a lovely weekend in the countryside.

Greyton Weekend

If you are a beer lover and also have been looking for a reason to visit Greyton, then here it is. The craft beers at The Old Potter's Inn are delicious. They specialize in different style ales (IPA, Pale Ale, Amber Ale), but also had a Saison and Lager available which were just as good. They have tastings available or if you know what you want you can order a pint and sit back and relax. They have inside and outside seating available with the outside seating having a clear view of the main road. The Inn has this classic village tavern atmosphere - if I were a local I would cycle to the Inn for a afternoon beer everyday.

Delicious Beer

We were upgraded to one of the cottages which was very comfortable. The cottage itself is comfortable and well equipped. Two small things that we noticed was firstly, the creaking wooden floors and secondly, the live music next door that only stopped at 11pm on Saturday evening. Both of these did not however disturb us too much, but could be problematic for families with young children. The pool area was great after a few very warm days. The restaurant and brewhouse were fantastic- we really enjoyed the coffee and breakfast.

Comfortable and convenient stay

What a wonderful stay at Old Potters Inn. Nature of the little town of Greyton is stunning and has a beautiful nature reserve to enjoy hikes. 

Our plan was to rest and the cottage was perfect for this. Nicely kitted kitchen, neatly decorated all over, clean and spacious for two. 

Would love to come again.

Beautiful & Tranquil

A combined dining room/pub with a lovely fire walking out onto an enclose sunny courtyard extension of the very same pub - what more do you want: a superb location, atmosphere, warmth (sun/fire), super craft beers (Brewed right next to you), tasty food & comfortable accommodation!?

See you next year for the next Greyton Music Festival - an event NOT to be missed!

NO POT BUT SUPERB HOMEBREW!

We enjoyed a most welcoming & relaxing stay at The Old Potters Inn, this past weekend. Even with all kinds of attractions dotted along the Main Road - all within walking distance from us - we found that we were drawn back to the restaurant & brewhouse every time! Truly a ‘one stop stay’, with comfortable & cosy accommodation, a delicious menu & only the best craft beers. We will be back... soon!
