Motel Skalka is located near town Kysucke Nove Mesto, 10 km north from Zilina,  parking place free of charge, capacity accurate. Possibility to eat at small terrace (due to weather), small children playground next to parking, also small kids corner inside restaurant, high chairs for kids available. We visit more times, usually satisfied. Nowadays they have special goose offer, so we tasted (not just goose - also cream soups, fishies, steaks, deserts) and we were fully satisfied. I can add just 10 pictures, so it's impossible add all. :) We recommend, worth of visit. Restaurant offers also parties for bigger groups (wedding, etc.)

Very good kitchen

I am visiting this motel very often on my way to Poland. They offer big variety of great food. My friend told me they have best steak ever. I think so... Parking lot is always full of cars what is good sign for you. I highly recommend it especially to tourists! 

Great restaurant

I stayed here as I had some friends in a house nearby.  We were in Slovakia for a weeks skiing.  Motel Skalka is a 20 minute drive from the Snow Paradise resort.  The hotel is modern and clean.  The rooms are a decent size with good bathrooms.  Wifi worked well throughout.  There are a couple of things to watch out for.  First there is a lot of noise from the road which appears to be the main truck route from Poland/Czech Republic.  Try to get a room away from the road as it is busy 24 hours.  nest, the heating cannot be controlled in the room (why not?).  You have to ask at reception for them to turn down the heat.  We had to insulate the radiator with towels/clothes to keep the temperature down.

We only ate breakfast at the hotel.  That was excellent.  We saw others at dinner time and the food looked really good.  They do close early in the evening however.

Good modern hotel

as we always get stuck in trafic jam from Zilina to CZ or PL border we take chance for a rest as restaurant has a good menu selection, beautiful terasse and large outside playground for kids....and inside nice clear athmosphere.

For hungry people but with a need to try everything from a Slovakian kitchen surprisingly they cook all. Try the delicious Cesnakova Polievka(is a soup) and the salmon is just perfect with every souce. Never get tired of this place. 😋 yummy

Great

I had business meeting there so my visit was short-term. Because of that I can not rate the accommodation. I had tasty coffee and mineral water. Only one problem was an arrogant and reluctant waiter. That was my last  visit of this place.

One hour visit

Stayed there on the way to Auschwitz which is just over an hour away. The motel is on the side of a major highway. We were there in October and the room was very warm. When we opened the windows it was noisy from trucks and traffic heading to Poland. Parking is handy and the food in the restaurant was good. Very little English spoken but the menu has English German and Slovak next to photos of the food
