Although it looks as one of those numerous very nice buildings which are falling apart in Craiova, this small pensione Carmelita has tried to save one of those by refurbishing it into a hotel. Large enough rooms with all basic facilities, good bed, clean bathroom, low quality toileteries, no in-room coffee/tea making facility, good free WiFi, simple freshly prepared breakfast plate with bread, egg, salami, cheese etc; about 12 minute walk to the central walking street; considering the price of about 30 to 40 Euros per night, it is a good value.

Goods value for money

Villa Carmelita is located within walking distance of the city center, in a quiet neighborhood (there's a church across the street, but the bells won't bother you unless it's Sunday morning). I liked the spacious and clean rooms, as well as the bathroom. The place seems to have been renovated recently.

Facilities are basic, there is no special decoration or anything that seems valuable in the rooms. They have an annoying alarm when opening the main door, but the staff is available 24h. Overall, a good value for money, but don't expect a special experience.

Good value for money, but nothing spectacular

Spider nets in the room were already aged, you can barely see them from the dust over, there was a minifridge in the room, last cleaning should be the moment they cleaned in the factory, toilet seat was broke, only one screw (with half broken nut) was trying to keep it in place... breakfast... 3 slices of cucember, 1 egg, 1 slice of cheese, bread on ration... If that is not your last chance try to avoid it, only positive
