The room was very small, not enough space for 2 people to pass. The is exaggerated by the 1.5 twin bed (already pushed against the wall). There are no face cloth or hand towel, so I had to wet the towel to clean my face. there is no shampoo or conditioner, only a miniature soap 1 inch in diameter. No tissue, or safe or air-conditioner. We had to leave the window open for some air but can hear the next door people. All this can be tolerated if not for one of  the mattresses, it feels and sounds like one that people throw out in alleyways, guaranteeing to give you backache. No, I would not stay here again. It looks like something left over from communist's era in appearance and service that has not moved on. We have been happy with our accommodation to Poland in the last 5 days

I booked a room at the Hyrny this week and specified that instead of a twin bedroom, I wanted a double bed - I was travelling with my partner so twin beds would be weird...! When I booked online, I realised that the room said 'twin or double', however they gave you the option to specify, so I did. Why bother asking people what they want if you're just going to give them whatever you have? When I asked the receptionist about it, she was apologetic to be fair, however the only excuse she gave me was 'it's high season and we don't have any more available' ... yet when looking online after this conversation, I saw some double rooms (just a double bed and not a twin) available for our dates online. So, what, if people booked these and turned up to a twin bed, they'd be told the same thing? I don't think this is good enough at all. Me and my partner were so disappointed by their room offering and their lack of motivation to do anything to satisfy us as unhappy customers that we booked another hotel that did have a double bed and left within the hour. The worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. Also the place looked like it needs sprucing up a bit - a tad dated in my opinion.

Didn't give me the room I wanted and didn't come up with a solution

I booked 4 rooms in Hyrny. I was traveling with small children.
I had seen prices advertised for lunch and dinner but when I asked about both at reception I was told both were unavailable.
The location is great. Rooms clean.
I booked 3 of the rooms with the free cancellation option however they took payment immediately after I booked and shouldn't have.
We had breakfast included. Unfortunately this was very disappointing. There was nothing for the 4 children to eat and when I asked for a drink for them I was told there was none. Breakfast consisted of cold scrambled eggs cucumber tomato and bread and one cereal. We arrived for breakfast at 8.30 even though breakfast was served to 9.30. very disappointed.
We couldn't sleep with the noise in the hotel even throughout the night. Not at all what we expected

Hyrny zakopane

must have been a nice hotel back in good old communist 1980's. apparently has not updated or simply repaired ever since. no signs of air conditioning. no hairdryer in the bathroom. no do not disturb sign. housekeeping is nominal. breakfast with no healthy choices. two middle aged women at reception do not speak a word of english. a younger guy and girl do. there must be better choices in zakopane.

back in communist times

Lovely visit to Zakopane, but the hotel was just average.  A tourist hotel with poor beds (very uncomfortable mattresses), but sufficient accommodations.  The hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping/dining area.  The reception desk is understaffed!  The one lady was trying to do everything—check people in, check people out, and answer the telephone and make reservations over the phone while several people were at the desk waiting to be served.   The breakfast was satisfactory.  The hotel is priced right.  It was difficult to get internet reception in our rooms.

Average

This hotel, probably once a resort in the time of socialism, has probably not changed much the last decade. The only exception must be new bathroom equipments.

The twin rooms are compact and ok for a night or two, and there was no daily room cleaning during our 3 nights stay.  Remember also to bring your own shampoo since only one tiny piese  of soap is all you get.
The only things that are big, are the lenght of the corridor and the enormous breakfast room. The breakfast has an ok buffet, and some mornings they even made omelett (but for some reason they left 9 o'clock). The noise level, however, is so high that you will leave asap.

Value for money may be ok.

Big and not exactly exciting 

This hotel is definitely a no frills place, but it's perfect for people on a budget or for a short stay. The staff are very welcoming and the breakfast, although extra, is plentiful. They even ordered me some gluten free bread to eat with mine. There is no lift so if you have any mobility problems, this hotel may not be the place for you. There are lounge areas to sit in, a games room for children and secure parking. The hotel is situated just off the top of the main street and is very close to a small supermarket should you need to buy water or snacks for when you're out and about. I'd definitely stay here again.
