We really had nothing to complain about: The beds are very comfortable, the showers are hot and strong and the staff is friendly and obliging. There is wifi on every floor and the rooms get cleaned every day. Breakfast is above average.

Best Hostel we stayed at in all of South America

We liked how helpful the staff was at check in. Despite our limited Spanish and her limited English we had our questions about the neighborhood answered and a taxi back to airport ordered on the day we needed. Plus the breakfast was very nice.

On Feb 2018 I went with a friend to Marlon's House for two nights.  We had a good stay.  The rooms and bathrooms are not the best but are clean.  Breakfast is good and location too. I recommend this hostel if you are staying one or two nights.

Good option for one or two nights

Although Puno can be really cold at night, it didn’t bother us that much because there were enough blankets/sheets to keep us warm and the shower was also warm. 

The breakfast was good and the staff was really nice. Would recommend going to Marlon’s! 

The most comfy beds we had in a while

The room was large and the bed was comfortable which was great. The lady on the desk was very friendly. The view from the room was good as you could see the lake in the distance. The walk to the main area wasn't far and the hostel is in a quiet area, although there was a party going on nearby when we stayed until about 2am (bad luck). 
The wifi was intermittent and the shower was warm. 
Breakfast was well below expectations. It was served 6.30-9am and when we came at 8am there was no bread left. There was some cereal but no bowls or milk so had to wait until someone came so we could ask for bowls and milk. We asked for some bread so we could make use of the jam and butter, and other toppings but they had none, so our breakfast was some sugar puffs and a few grapes. The coffee was like sludge and the worst we've had in a long time unfortunately. Maybe it was a bad day.
There's a sloped, muddy area next to the hotel with 2 swing doors and a chain/padlock where 2-3 cars can be parked.

Comfy stay in good location

Good beds, hot shower, a very nice breakfast buffet and everything was clean, the personell was super nice and helpful with planning some trips in the region definetly recommend staying here as a backpacker!

Goode stay and super helpful staff

We were given a warm and friendly reception upon arrival, the price was good, our room was big and clean, and there was plenty of choice at breakfast (which started very early, meaning we didn't miss out as usual due to an early tour start!) including eggs for only 1sole more! The hotel is in a good location, just up from all the action and the main square, but far enough to be fairly quiet.They were also very lovely and let us keep our bags in storage overnight (save lugging them all the way upstairs!) and then again the next day while we did a lake tour. They also let us hang out in Reception after our tour while we waited for our overnight bus.The only thing I've marked them 4/5 on, and 5/5 all the others, is because there was no hot water in the morning. There was the previous night, but I was too tired to even eat when we arrived! So if you're wanting a hot shower I'd say get it the night before :)

Friendly, comfy and clean

We got to this hostel thanks to a woman at the bus terminal.  We had arrived with from Cusco late afternoon with no reservations.  As we pulled into the terminal, I was not very impressed with the area so I decided to look for something a little closer to downtown.  I asked a woman with a clipboard where I could buy bus tickets for the next day for Copacabana, Bolivia, and she led me to the correct counter.  She asked if we needed a place to stay and she recommended this one.  She had a brochure which looked OK but, mostly, it was 3 blocks from the main plaza.

She accompanied us on the taxi raid and helped us check in (not that we needed the help).  She, as well as the check-in staff suggested we look at the room before committing to it.  Sounded like a good idea.  The room was small but clean, hot water and cable TV were freely available.  Wi-Fi signal not very good.  We slept well, but the breakfast was a disappointment.  We told them we would take our breakfast in the dining room at 6:00 and when we showed up, the table was set.  The bread was stale, the thermos had watered down coffee in it, which was odd given that the table had tea bags and coffee on it.

All in all, given its price, I can't complain too much, but I doubt I would return to it.
