Crown Hotel

I had booked the Owu Crown Hotel Ibadan through e-mail and made the payment after the stay. The room rate that I got was around USD 65 (Naira 21,000) per night and I had stayed for 3 nights in September 2018 as part of my business visit to Ibadan. It is best that you ask the hotel to send cab to Lagos Airport as they have a tie-up with Ajadi & SONS cab services and the hotel charges reasonable price else you may get fleeced at the airport for going to Ibadan which is around 130 Kms (3 hours) drive from the airport. The hotel is comfortable and staff is guest friendly. They have a swimming pool which plays loud local music in the evening and you can see the local boys playing in the pool, which the hotel should avoid as it doesn’t seem to be a pleasant scene for guests. They offer free wi-fi but the speed is slow at times. They serve good breakfast in the morning and also have a buffet dinner in the evening. In addition the hotel has a bar. You should exchange USD to Nigerian Naira at the airport as you will not get good rates at the hotel. The rate that I got at the airport was 1 USD = 357 Naira and the hotel exchanged it at 1 USD = 340 Naira. There is one good Indian restaurant in Ibadan – Zen restaurant that is run by an Indian and you can have nice food over there. The location of the hotel is average and you can’t enjoy a walk outside the hotel. You can also explore Best Western Hotel which is a new hotel in Ibadan.
