I booked two rooms at this hotel for one night over the Easter weekend, a peak holiday time in Rotorua. I received a message from the hotel about three weeks before travel advising me that one room was cancelled with no offer of assistance to find alternative accommodation. When I contacted the hotel on two different occasions I was told on the first occasion that a skylight was broken and on the other occasion that there were bed bugs and all the furniture was going to be replaced. I was assured that the second room would still be available. On arrival at the hotel, I was told in no uncertain terms that there were no rooms available and then I was agressively ordered off the property, despite there being no provocation at all on my part. I had to go to Hamilton to find alternative accommodation because there were no accommodation options left in Rotorua on Easter weekend. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this property to potential guests

Appalling Treatment

On the good side, the pillows were nice. That is the only good thing I can say.

However, the room was dingy and dated.
The bench was wobbly and not secured properly.
The toilet was very low to the ground and the shower was cold with little water or very very hot so showers had to be very quick.
They never cleaned the room or restocked the tea and coffee so on the last morning we were unable to have a cuppa.
We had a designated car park which was often used by other guests friends so we had trouble parking.
There were few power points and none in the bathroom so my wife struggled to do her hair. There were none on my side of the bed, and no table, so I was unable to have my phone there which I use as my alarm.
I do not recommend this place to anyone, there are so many better places in Rotorua for the same price.
I would rate this accommodation  as 1.5 stars.

The worst place I have stayed at in NZ

I booked a room a week before arriving. Got there and they had no record of it. Assistant processed me quickly and hubby and I couldn't wait to have a rest. The room was very dated. Repairs were done on the cheap as they were very evident. Walls had alot of cracking, there was obvious water damage around the room walls and carpets. Did not enjoy the bed positioned under the skylight as it was too bright to sleep under and then there was a storm later with hail so we decided to move the bed out of harms way just in case the glass shattered. We could also feel water splashes coming in even though the louvres were closed! There was an odd exit label in the bathroom located at bathroom window which was a bit odd.  Bathroom had no extraction so would fill with steam and condensate when using shower and bath. Bed was too soft and i ended up with a sore back. There was also another single bed in the room and a foldout couch which was horrendous to sit on as it swallowed you up! Very dated furnishings, sticky table, free toiletries consisted of 2 shampoo packets and a small bar of soap. Had a spa bath and noticed behind toilet pipes were filthy! Lastly we decided to microwave porridge for our breakfast before leaving to find  a cup of coffee that was heated too long in there, condensation inside microwave which had overflowed onto turntable! We suspect that someone had been in there either just before we checked in or worse while we were out for dinner! The hosts only reply to our concerns were "But if you want to heat a coffee you add hot water" I wasn't amused and he knew it to which he promptly apologised several times. He didn't even say he would investigate the concerns further or anything, but for a hospitality business where the customer should at least feel valued this was by far one of the worst stays ever. Clearly we will not look at this place again and I would encourage anyone wanting to stay here...there is a reason why it's so cheap, well not that cheap $98 totally wasted our time and money!

Nothing Ace about it!

We stayed a week due to everything was booked out and we needed something urgent. We got the last room and it served us well. The bed was comfortable. Hated the WiFi it never worked. On the last day the shower burnt me and I could not turn it down. The cleaner did not do her job well. It was meant to be serviced daily all she did was changed the towels and did the dishes. The bed was never made except when I stripped the sheets of the bed and it never got vacuumed once. We will never stay here again.

Nice and clean with a spa bath but no wardrobe. Close to town and other points of interest.

Quic check jn and no further contact with staff. We were busy all weekend so motel was just a place to sleep and was fine.

Basic but clean and comfortable

Stayed here for just a single night. Motel is very dated. However it was comfortable and quiet despite being on the main road out of town. Friendly owner/manager. Close to centre of town if you've got a car. 

We had an amazing stay, was very clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Close to the city. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Amazing place to stay

The check in was quick they were friendly and polite. The room was very clean.  The spa bath was marvellous

Clean stay.

Experience was ok..sheets on the bed was dirty so slept on top of the blankets...no heating so was cold but otherwise was fine.
